Marlins will win the sectional and go to the Final Four.

Goose13:

If your scenario is correct, the Marlins better bring a better game aganist Lincoln than they did with SUNY Farmindale.  I read that the Marlins guards gave SUNY Farmingdale problems.  Lincoln has some good athletic, and well as conditioned guards in Kyle Myrick, and Sami Wylie.  Additionally, the shot blocking by Darryl White, Bryant Leach and Thomas Hickson can intimidate some teams.

CNU had an great game with the Lions, but the Captains witnessed the blocked shots first hand!  Additionally, Lincoln has no problem playing on the road.  The "frequent flyer" miles the Lions logged this season will be used well after returning from Salem, VA with the championship  ;D .

What does comparing CNU have to do w/ the VWC/Lincoln game?  VWC waxed the Captains this year, infact they held CNU scoreless for  the first 7 minutes of the game at CNU.

I do think that Lincoln and VWC will match up very well versus each other.  In my opinion (which doesn't hold much weight) both teams are top 10 teams and maybe top 5.  Tough matchup for both, I would rather see them have to play each other on Saturday as I think they are the two best teams at the beach this weekend.

Regardless, it's time to step up and bring your best game to the court now. Yes, the Marlins had their problems with Farmingdale but it was obvious that VWC was the better conditioned team and had plenty left in the tank at the end of the game. Farmingdale was exhausted. I think the Marlins will be OK if Brandon, TonTon, Marques, Thomas, and Tyler play their very best. Adair was solid against Farmingdale despite being doubled-up; Fantin had a strong second half. Fitch was solid. Thomas has a little injury to get over but he'll be ready to go on Friday. I was told they are going to construct bleachers at both ends like they did for the women's championship so there will be plenty of room for all the posters to attend :) See you there! GO FISH.

From the Richmond Times-Dispatch on Saturday:  (Article on RMC-Wooster Game)

The game, the first of a doubleheader played at Transylvania University, only drew about 250 people, according to R-MC coach Mike Rhoades. He said he would have rather played at Wooster in front of a sold-out gym.

"It was an awful environment, because you have two teams that are neutral [from] over 400 miles away," Rhoades said. "It was a joke."

I love it and can't agree more!!!!!  (Even about the ODAC Tournament!)

Where were all the Transylvania fans?  250 people?!!  Unbelievable.

(I couldn't understand why Transylvania was hosting, instead of Wooster, anyway.  Wooster had the kind of season that justified hosting that piece of the tournament.)

The NCAA box score on the RMC web site says that the attendance was 1200.  There's a very large discrepancy between Rhoades' comment and the stat sheet.  Not sure what to make of it.

Curious about the fact that Wansley got so little playing time (22 minutes).  Even 3 of the Yellow Jackets off the bench (Gill, Carlson, and Annacone) got more playing time.  Was he in foul trouble for big chunks of time?

I notice that he scored only 7 points, putting up only 7 shots (and hitting 3).  What happened at Transylvania on Friday?  Good double-teaming?

RMC's deep, but Wansley has been the scariest player on their team for 3 years now (and 2nd only to Jared Mills when he was a freshman).  Looks like Wooster played him pretty effectively.  Were any of you at the game?

Usually they do a combined attendance for a session.  So you could have very easily had 200 for the RMC game and then 1000 additional people come for the second game and RMC-Wooster would still count as 1200 attendance.

That explains it.  Transylvania probably sold out the house (which seats only 1200) and most of the ticketholders were Transylvania fans and not terribly interested in the RMC - Wooster game.

It's a shame that the games weren't scheduled like they have been in the past.  RMC would have played at Wooster on Thursday night in front of a packed house.

Congratulations to VWC and good luck this coming weekend... hope to follow you all the way to Salem, Va.

Tough luck to all the RMC fans. Sounds like they played well until Hawley got into foul trouble. Special congratulations to Mr. Wansley... great career. It was has been a true pleasure to watch you play. A true All American that displayed great sportsmanship and represented RMC with class.

Go Marlins... Continue to represent the ODAC well !!!!!
