Good luck to the Marlins and welcome back to Salem.  You should have some good memories of the place! ;D

I'm wondering what kind of fan support the Marlins will get on Friday night. It's spring break at VWC so all the students are gone. I'm hoping that the Roanoke College faithful and the strong ODAC support base in the Valley will come out.

Will Peter be playing in Charlottesville on Friday night?

Algernon - He's on the west coast team and will be in Richmond on March 26, 3 p.m. game at the Richmond Coliseum. That's as close as he comes - he also plays in Winston Salem on 3/23 and Raleigh on 3/24 on his way to Richmond.

And now.....Back to Basketball!

I am throwing down the challenge to any of you ODAC guru's out there.  What does the VWC/IWU matchup look like.  Comparing team and individual stats...how are the matchups?

Thanks.  I might go to the game in Richmond.

Algernon - great! He doesn't know it yet but anywhere from 75-100 of his friends and family are going to show up.

Swish, do I sense some bitterness in this post?  True CNU was a different team then, but so too were the Marlins at that time in the year.  I disagree with the "failure" if VWC does not make it to the Final Four.  Farmingdale was a very good basketball team, maybe the top team the Marlins played all year and Lincoln is going to be just as tough if not tougher.  VWC has not played any pushovers and, IF, they get by Lincoln tonight, they will have defeated two teams with All Americans on them.  If the Marlins fall, there is no thought of a season of failure.  No one thought they would get this far back in November.

Yeah, I'm bitter, but I still stand by my statement.  If VWC had lost to Lincoln, or especially William Paterson, it would have been a golden opportunity wasted.  I'm not trying to take anything away from their achievement, but they did what they were suppose to do....congrats.

Just in case you're wondering, I would definitely expect the same from CNU, had they been in that position.

GO CAPS!

Good article.  Sat with a bunch of Fish Fans at the ODAC tourney for one of their games.  The President of the school is a fanATIC!!  He was yelling and screaming!

GOOD LUCK MARLINS!  You won the last two without Sumpter. You may be undersized  and under manned at times but your hearts and determination got you to the Final Four despite many people's predictions ( I especially like the one guest on Hoopsville that said Lincoln would "obliterate" you.) It wasn't a fluke. A small school with local talent that now has national respect. Play with pride, you have earned it!  Go Marlins

" Courtside in Salem" on the front page of d3hoops is worth a read.  Take the time to go there.  Its about observations of the final four teams in practice this afternoon.  Nicely done..
