Congrats to Virginia Wesleyan on winning the national title; to the ODAC for finally breaking through and garnering the Walnut and Bronze; and to the South Region as a whole for getting that 31-year-old monkey off of their collective back.

Mass Marlin

Congrats to the Marlins and Coach Macedo!  A fitting way to end this incredible season.  This team refused to let anyone put them away.  The heart and determination they showed in all of those close games was amazing.

Also, thanks to everyone who works and/or contributes to the D3hoops website and this message board.  As a VWC fan in Massachusetts, we obviously don't get any local coverage, so being able to come here for information is a great benefit.  Being able to either watch, or listen, to all of these games from the ODAC tournament through tonight was a treat.  Thanks again.

VWC might have been favored for the other games but not according to the press that the other teams they played received.  Not a word was written about the Marlins in d3hoops when they were going to play Lincoln or William Paterson and very little about them before the IWU game..Even Farmingdale had a nice piece written about them.  So If I erred about them being favored in their last 4 games I meant according to what d3hoops releases said.  And shame on you Pat Coleman for doing such a poor job on your assignment for the final four.  If you couldn't give your assessment of VWC an equal share of press then you should have given the assignment to someone who would have.  I realize how busy you are and what an outstanding job you do with d3hoops but to single out and ignore VWC  and defend your lack of press of VWC to "sue me" I had other things to do, was poor.  After all is said and done , it won't really matter.  The Marlins aren't living and dying by what you say or what anyone says.  The Marlins will go out and play their hearts out and hopefully bring home a National Championship.  If they don't win, they can still be very proud of what they have accomplished this year and no one can take that away from them.   Go Marlins!!!!

So, I guess this is the time that what Pat Coleman did or didn't write doesn't matter.  Calm down in the future.

Congratulations to the Marlins on an unbelievable year!  They played hard all year and have given the South a much needed victory to earn respect nationally.  I am already looking forward to next year because I think the conference as a whole will be made better over the next couple of years because of VWC's national championship.  I just wish we could say they were the second ODAC school to do it!

I'd look for VWC to be a major contender to repeat as ODAC and National Champs next year! I imagine the recruiting class they'll have coming in next year will be he envy of basically every D3 team in the country. Their accomplishments alone could get them some major ballers, and their location doesn't hurt either.
