does anyone know if sager is playing for EMU next year. i remember after the season was over he had some doubt about playing his final year. this would be a trwemendous loss. and i just received word that korey whiting will be transferring to VCU where he will try to walk on the team. THis is a huge loss and if sager does not return they will struggle

emufan

Sager is returning to finish his career at EMU!

As far as Whiting goes...

He had the potential to be a great D3 player.  He won't amount to much playing at the D1 level, especially after losing two years of eligibility. Somtimes these kids talk to the wrong people and their head gets a little to big.

EMU doesn't want anyone who isn't committed to the program, so if your heart isn't in it, good luck else where.

rumor has it a lot of kids have left Randy Mac... is that true?

Well it appears something is going on at RMC, as there web page has only ten players listed.

from a purely basketball stand point, korey whiting leaving EMU to attempt to walkon at VCU is more questionable than a high schooler (unless you happen to be like Lebron James) declaring for the nba draft. simply this is how it is: he had the chance to be a ODAC POY and first-team all-odac player, and god knows what else, but he throws it all away to attempt to walkon a D1 team that really has no realistic chance of ever doing anything special on the national scene, and if even does make it (which he probably won't), he'll be relegated to sitting at the end of the bench, at best. Being on the practice squad will probably be as far as he'll ever go at D1.  The kid had so much going for him at EMU in terms of basketball that I just don't understand why he would throw it all away. Maybe he made the move for academic or personal reasons or something else, but as far as basketball goes it was a terrible decision in my opinion.

Let's see, 19 players listed on the RMC 2005-2006 roster. Three were seniors, so that would elave 16.

The six not returning are derrick delagranna, alex irmer, brett foelber, kevan quinn, ericm mueseler, and keith searles. Those 6 played a combined 397 minutes, with Irmer and Delagranna playing 387 of those minutes. The only "major" loss is Irmer and you could argue DeLagranna as a significant loss with the graudation of Gill. So it appears that it was mostly a bunch of kids that had no chance of getting PT, teams lose those kind of kids every year.

I heard that Irmer is transferring to St. Mary's College (CAC).

DeLaGrana was in my opinion the best PG in the system.. RMC coach is too senior oriented when it comes to playing time.. Althought I believe he is a good coach his philosophy does not go well with the players he has and had.. You watch and see how successful the DeLaGrana kid will be at his next school...

xcoach

You BELIEVE he is a good coach? I would suspect there would be a lot of agreement on that one. And, by the way, I believe his philosophy has proven fairly successful!

the best at RMC?  had a .75:1 assist to turnover ratio. had nearly half as many turnovers as justin short, but didnt get half as much playing time. short had one turnover for every 10.1 minutes played, delegranna had a turnover for every 6.8 minutes played.  and considering he only played 8.1 minutes per game, he was probably getting a lot of playing time when the game had already ben decided.

What will time tell us if he isn't on the team any longer? ???
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

just did a checkup on how kerry atkinson did at north carolina central this past season. played 18 of the team's 28 games, started 1 game, averaged 11 minutes and 4,2 points a game (apparently north carolina central thinks guilford is a community college).
