Wow... it IS excellent...

Scottie... did you do that on one of your "I'm not going to post, except sort of" breaks?  ;)

I think what we have here is "the new and improved STH >"
This is STH's senior year and he has really stepped up. Nice job >!

It is definitely a very well organized website, with a lot of information, and the linkage is fast.  Great job!!  I'll note that one can get much of the same information from d3hoops.com, although not everything that's available at Scott's Lynchburg/ODAC site.

The predictions there are Scott's and are no more valid than yours or mine .... Accolades to him for having the computer-savvy needed to nicely format and put them on the web along with all of the rest of the information!

The Tigers bring back 4 of their 5 starters and 8 of their top 10 players.  They will be led by seniors Matt Green and Mike Edwards and juniors Troy Kaase and Drew Prehmus.  The Tigers have got 8 freshmen and transfers to add to their 11 returnees, including at least one strong big man who will immediately provide help to Kaase on the inside.  And Jyri Laakso will refine his game and foul less as a sophomore.

On top of that, this team has been well motivated and working hard ever since last season ended in February with that crazy OT semifinal loss to a very good Yellow Jacket team.  The Tigers have had a very active schedule of weight-lifting and pickup games since they returned to campus ... players getting into the weight room early in the morning.  The return of Chad Warner brings an energy that's contagious and they're very excited about the upcoming season.  While it's possible that they could finish as low as 3rd, I would be very surprised by that.  I think they will give the Marlins a run for their money and could once again finish on top of the conference.

Although I may have picked Randolph-Macon to finish 4th, they return some tremendous players in Krovic, Carlson, and Hawley and will come up with a way to make up for the loss of Wansley.  My 4th-place prediction is very likely too low.

Algernon - I agree that HSC will give the Marlins all they can handle this year. I, too, have heard that the Tigers are going to walk onto the floor a little different team than in the past....more dedicated. RMC has suffered from some internal strife I understand and has lost some players to transfer. I think the ODAC is going to be extremely competitive in the 1-5 spots this fall/winter. And, Salem should be one of the most exciting ever.

Needless to say, I hope the Quakers are a legitimate contender this year as well.  All key players are back and some solid recruits.  I know Ben Strong is back for sure - he was the flag bearer before the Guilford/Ferrum football game last Saturday.  lol  It should be an interesting ODAC season!

All right enough about indigenous taste treats & the former President of the NRA. Has anyone seen any of the freshman scrimmage yet? :-X

My Karma went down 'cause of this?! ???

I know ARA Sea's & Moon Pieyz are somewhat sacred  on this venerable board. Is there someone out there that actually took umbrage at my call to re-center our conversation on the coming season. ::)

BLJ - yes, we all did, of course!

Pat might need to establish another thread for moonpies & RC's - maybe a link could be set up to a zipcode locator. Put in your zipcode & the closet retailers of said  products would pop-up. ;D

BLJ - OK, you are back on course now. It's all good.

Marlin website lists nine new first year recruits, 5 from the beach, 2 more from the general area(Williamsburg and Fredericksburg) and one from Baltimore. Two of the recruits are up there: 6'8" and 6'10." We'll see if they all make Coach Macedo's 06/07 Marlin squad.

HSC has a D1 transfer that is 6'9'' and a 6'7'' post that played at Fork Union last year. They should both see a tremendous amount of playing time for the Tigers.

Just a quickie from Eagle-land...looks as if Josh Maupin will NOT be a part of the Eagle squad for the upcoming season. Without going into a lot of detail, there are some health issues and the decision has been made. It will certainly hurt the depth factor at Bridgewater. Informal play has begun and with practice at about month away, the Eagles will have to re-group quickly.

I still stand by my earlier prognostication, but admittedly the foundation is a little thinner today. Congrats by the way to Bill Leatherman on his 4th grandchild (a boy). One more boy and Bridgewaters starting five is in place say... about 2024. Wonder if Bill will stick around for that to pan out? ;)

More Eagle news as it develops...

Sort of. Some of those games could use opponents.

Is that a oblique reference to the game scheduled against Oberlin?   :)
