It's obvious. Charter members of ODAC in 1976 were BC, EMU, E&H, HSC, LC, RMC, RC, and W&L. VWC joined in 89/90 and Guilford in the spring 1990. One or both will be asked to move to USA South.

All my previous joking aside, I hope that won't happen.  Both VWC and Guilford have been ODAC members for over 15 years and are solidly a part of the conference.

Beyond that, VWC's basketball team has brought honor and glory to the ODAC, while Guilford's football team has given the ODAC enough football teams for an automatic bid to the NCAAs.

If I may, Guilford golf has brought two NCAA DIII championships to the ODAC.  :)

Hasanova great poem...
Thanks.  I appreciate the compliment.  By the way, I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge Mr. Ypsi.  He's my coauthor (see "rue").  :)

Okay then.  Kudos to you and Mr. Ypsi (the unknown poet).

hasanova is much too generous with the 'coauthor' bit - I suggested changing ONE word!

And if any of you caught my efforts during last year's haiku mania on the MWC board, you'll know that my designation as 'unknown' poet is richly deserved! ;D

Yes, but it was "the" word.  lol  Guilford has rarely been known for their football prowess, but here's a haiku I did for them about a year ago:

Win a game, lose two
Repeat one hundred autumns
Still time to run right

The obvious team to be tossed out of the OLD DOMINION Athletic Conference is Guilford, given that the Quakers are not even located in the Old Dominion.

You would trade away hasanova's contribution to the board?  The poet of the ODAC, gone?  Did the publicity about the Snipe's shot, featured prominently on ESPN,  generate no lasting support for the Quakers?   ???

There once was a Quaker named Jordan
Who flung it with cameras recordin'.
Swish! right after BEEP BEEP!
Coach Rhoades right after, BLEEP BLEEP!
And the nets all came down by de-cord-in'!

Nova - how 'bout a rhyme about Balenga's shot that won the tournament. Can you do it?

Has the gauntlet been thrown down?  lol  Give me a bit and I'll figure it out.

Nova - No, I think we are just using your metered expertise. In fact, a rhyme about each team in the ODAC would be appropriate, don't you think fellow posters!

How's this? -

There once was a cager - a Marlin
Shooting Tigers - sharp teeth and a snarlin'
Adair was not free -
So Balenga's the key -
Three pointer! - now Ton Ton's a darlin'!

Wow - Ten poems!.  Hmmm - let me give it some thought.  Thanks for the compliment - I'll do my humble best.
