Time to dust off the keyboard...the season's almost here.  Looks like the Tiger transfers are as follows:  Matt Kittrell from Wagner College of the D-I NEC and John Barker from Lenoir-Rhyne College.  Where did Forrestor go?  Just curious. ???

Fitch was an on the court captain but Sumpter and Tucker can handle the ball really well also. Fitch was a fire starter so they will miss him. Adair is the man along with TonTon. Standing beside those two you have a whole bunch of guys who can flat out play.

Did any of the Tiger posters attend the first annual tip-off banquet last Friday?  If so, how was it?

Forrester and Szuch are still at HSC.  Both are Resident Advisors and excellent students.

Kittrell is going to be a great addition to the team ... With the new post additions to the Tigers' team, it will be much harder for other teams to double-team Troy Kaase.  Across the board, the Tigers will be very deep this year.

I'm surprised more posters haven't weighed in with info on their favorite teams. Where the heck is >? No Loesel! No EMU. No RMC. Where is everybody?

j-dub...c'mon man its State Fair week..giant turkey legs, elephant ears, deep fried coca-cola, the biggest alligator in captivity, the largest horse in the world, a chicken with three heads, shooting an over inflated basketball into a football shaped rim. Real basketball can wait ;D

Guilford posted a roster for about a day over a month ago and then I haven't seen it since. I think they'll have a deep and talented team, but I'll give you a better report as soon as I know.  I do know Strong, Kimbrough, Snipes and others are all back and there are a couple of good freshmen.

He's big I'll grant him that. At Wagner he was the last guy on the bench on a mediocre team. I'll bet Kaase doesn't need Kittrell or anybody else covering his back. He's a "Hoss" on his own.
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Steely - are those deep fried turkey legs? Yum.

jdub- yum doesn't even begin to cover it  ;D...deep fried, smoked however you want them! Gotta love the State Fair!

Baselinejam...can anything (including a win over State) save Buntcakes now? Last night was just awful!

If he doesn't list his house with a realtor, I think some of the UNC alumni will do it for him.  It was 23-0 when I went to bed, so I don't even want to know how it ended.

Kittrell is definitely big, at 6'9" and 235 pounds.  As a freshman, he played all but 3 games at Wagner (an N.E.C. team, 13-14 in 2005), averaging 3.5 minutes a game.  It's probably a safe guess that Kittrell is the only ODAC player who has ever scored against UCLA (at UCLA, 12-21-05) ....  ;)

At Benedictine High School, Kittrell averaged 13.5 points and nine rebounds as a senior.  Anyone who's interested can find more info at http://www.northeastconference.org/News/wagner/2005/4/13/wc-mbbkittrellsigns.asp?path=wagner and http://wagnerathletics.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/mtt/kittrell_matt00.html

Jyri Laakso returns as an experienced sophomore this year and the Tigers also have 2 freshman post players who will get playing time and provide great depth:  6'6" Laine Medlin, who did a post-grad year at Fork Union after playing at West Point High School, and 6'7" Eric Rolander, from Gonzaga High School.

How many of you subscribe to DIII News? According to a VWC release today, DIII News has picked VWC as #1 in a preseason poll. RMC is #12.

Picking VWC as #1 in the preseason poll makes perfect sense, but I don't get RMC as a preseason #12.   I know that the Yellow Jackets (barely) made the ODAC finals last year and took VWC to OT in the championship game, but they lost to Wooster by 14 points in their first NCAA game and they start the 2006-07 season without the All-American who was such a big-time player.  Seems strange to me.

There's been a lot of competition between the ODAC and USA South, so you may be interested in this preseason poll:
