I have to say Guilford's game versus Robert Morris (IL) scares me more than a little.  The Eagles have been an NAIA Final Four team the last two seasons and are ranked #1 this year, but I think Coach Palombo's scheduling strategy is correct......

Hasanova, i think ur slightly mistaken on the scheduling, Guilford is playing Robert Morris from springfield Illinoise, but theres also a chicago campus, which is the one you are speaking of.. haha believe me, we dont want to play them, Number 1 preseason Division 1 NAIA, haha supposively there big man inside could have been a draft pick last yr in the NBA, they also have 2 other all americans on there...   no no no... however, the other team, the springfield team does have some solid players on there, should be a good game for the quakers...

On an update, the quaks scrimmaged D2 Queens University in charlotte on sat, the scrimmage went well, the quakers pretty much took it took it to them. Queens was athletic but guilford just moved the ball around and out played them. I think a couple of the other top teams in the ODAC could have beat them as well also... Should be a tough conference this yr, really tough. Good luck to all the teams this yr! lets all win our games against USA south teams, it'll make the conference look better! 8)
OK, thanks.  When you follow the link on the schedule, it takes you to the Chicago campus - I didn't even know there was another affliated school in Springfield.  Very confusing for me and the pick'em participants, so I apologize if I muddied the waters.

That causes a lot of confusion on CCIW Chat and other midwest boards.  Robert Morris (Chicago) would beat a LOT of low-level D1 teams; Robert Morris (Springfield) is one of the weakest teams in ALL of college bball.  VERY important to make sure which one you're talking about! ;)

Please read the notes above about the multiple Robert Morris (IL) campuses and their separate sports programs.  The Robert Morris team that's ranked #1 in NAIA DI is in Chicago.   The team that faces Guilford on Saturday in the Roanoke tournament is in Springfield.  To add to the confusion, both teams are called the Eagles.  You've been warned, so make your best pick'em guess armed with this information.  Good luck!   Thanks to Mr. Ypsi (who follows midwestern teams closely) and GCAlumnus (who I know was a member of Guilford's team the past few years) for helping clarify the separate teams.  They both should know, so thanks again!

Hey steely,

Should they post it here in a new post and e-mail you.  That way everyone is aware of the change and no one can accuse you of anything.

By the way, I think that is a great idea since it will prevent Jimmy L from cheating like he has in the past! :D

It appears "ODAC b'ball", like Scottie, has disappeared from the board.

Steely,
Are you up for dusting off the old abacus to serve as score keeper of the ODAC Pick'em for the new season?  As in the past, I'd be willing to select the contests, if the board members support.

(I must make clear that I have already eaten the Moonpie from last year, so we'll have to find another source for the traditional prize to the winner of the Pick'em.   :D

I'm in, and will happily participate in any shinanigans (whether ODAC tourney passes, or All Sports Cafe happy hours) we can come up with! 8)

Brian...if this season holds true like the others I will be "accused" of everything before its all said and done, so, if the guru's want to post their changes that's fine but at the very least they need to e-mail them to me if they want them to count.  ;D

As for Jimmy, I worry about him on many different levels but rest easy at night with regards to his "cheating" :)

Heard that Emory and Henry won their scrimmage against d2 Concord University this weekend.  Score was apparently close, but that makes two d2 schools that the Wasps defeated in scrimmages this preseason.  I am curious to why people are picking Mount Union to defeat the Wasps in the opening game(jdubyadubya, jacketlawyer, brianhamilton) despite the fact that they return basically every major contributor for a team that finished the season going 11-3.

Also how does everyone think the potential Wooster-Emory game will go?

Good point, ODACFan.  The E&H I remember was a threat to score three whenever they touched the ball.  Couldn't beat 'em with just offense.

It appears grace in defeat is not counted among your virtues, Brian.   :D
