Well, I don't know either - I think I try to be a pretty good fellow with an open mind in my posts.  I wasn't asking for points, but thanks very much.  I was just curious about how I was unknowingly affecting someone else.  lol  Thanks again.

Good luck tonight to the Quakers!  I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about it - the Tigers are a very good team and the Fleet Center is a really tough place to play.   When you think about it, that's what makes basketball - and sports in general - so great.  You remember the games where you honestly don't know what's going to happen.  You know both teams are good, both want the win and there's something - an undefeated record, a conference championship - for which to play.  The fans are nervously waiting for the tip - there is anticipation.   No one remembers a game without drama.   Nine hours and 21 minutes and 10 seconds ....

Thanks for the reminder.  I knew one year they were both OT games.  I attended all the games at Guilford and, to be honest, the Quakers let several wins get away.  That's the way the ball bounces, so maybe it's time for luck to go our way.  I wish I could be there tonight!

Thanks to whoever dinged me (twice) since these earlier entries this morning.  Consider the joy you're getting my Christmas present to you.  May you get everything you deserve for the holidays!  :)  Peace

A "God" on his Smite-throwing throne,
Like a brat plucking wings
From powerless things.

I find it very interesting that quite a few people have picked HSC to lose to Guilford, but beat VWC.  Of course, what we pick to happen has no impact upon the game.  This is obviously a very important two game stretch for HSC.  It could be good for them or bad them.  Even if they lose, I feel that it could be good because it still so early in the season.  Look at what happened when HSC beat Wesleyan early in the year last year.  Nevertheless, I believe that HSC needs to win at least one of them to stay within striking distance.  And I will be more than willing for Santa to deliver an early Christmas present and have two wins.  In any event, some of our questions will be answered after the games of this week.

I've seen Guilford play twice this year and they're good, but it has been three games on neutral courts (Robert Morris, Sewanee and Greensboro) and one at home (vs LC).  Tonight will be their first game on the road, in a hostile environment and against a really good team.  We'll find out tonight what they're made of this year.  Mr. Loesel saw the Quakers play twice at the Roanoke tournament and I think he also saw they have some talent.  As you mentioned, Brian, a lot of things will be clearer late Saturday.   Should be a fun year!   One hour, 54 minutes, 7 seconds ....  lol

Final GC 66 HSC 63.  Whew!  Edwards hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer, but the officials said it was too late and waved it off.   What a game!

Marlins win over Bridgewater..82-57 (I think that is the correct score) but a win anyway.   Saturday should be a great game at Hampton-Sydney.  rebounding could be the key for this one.    Go marlins!

I don't have any other details besides the score, but it looks like Lynchburg beat RMC 78-70.  Wow!  What an interesting development.  Congratulations to the Hornets.

Looks like Guilford wins at HSC by Mr. Nova's post.  What a big win for the Quakers at a very difficult place to play.  I look forward to seeing the stat line to see who played well.  Although I know I am biased being a Guilford fan, but I feel it is time for the Quakers to start getting some top 25 votes.  They may not be worthy of a place yet, but at 5-0 (6-0 if you count the win over D-1 Elon), they are playing above average.  I have been fortunate enough to see most of their games and barring a mid season mental lapse, they should be very tough down the stretch.  Congrats to the Marlin's on their win, it should be another good game on Saturday as they travel to Sydney.  Oh I just see Lynchburg with a huge win themselves.  Congrats.

Just found a boxscore for LC/RMC:  http://www.lynchburg.edu/documents/Athletics/basketball_m/2006-07%20stats/lcmen06.htm  Danny Reed with 23.  Get this, LC led 42-28 at the half!

Looks like a big upset by the Hornets over Randloph Macon78-70.  Congrats to Lynchburg and Guilford for finding ways to beat  2 of the best teams in the Odac for many many years.
