Well, some will say all sex is good, but once you get over that hurdle I guess we're left looking for some semblance of an answer to the conundrums.   How about these:

1) "which came first, the chicken or the egg?"   does it really matter, because in both cases you get laid
2) "which came first, the complaint or the smites?"  does it really matter, because in both cases you get screwed

Just one man's opinion.

The questions  were ...

Please consider these two conundrums: "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" and "which came first, the complaint or the smites?"

How could the possible answer to your conundrum be like good sex?

My answer was, "if they came together."

I like yours better ... this is also a good point ... well done, sir.

Your karma is in the mail ... as you well know, I have to wait 24 hours.  :)

Tigers lose this afternoon to Shenandoah by 1 point, with Shenandoah hitting a 2-pointer to win it with about 13 seconds left.

Tigers played without their two top scorers, Troy Kaase and Turner King.  Troy has a serious knee injury and won't be playing for a long time, so this is a really tough break for Troy and the Tigers.  Turner has recently had a collapsed lung and I'm not sure when he'll be back.

algernon, sorry to hear about Troy and Turner.  No one wants to see players ailing or injured and we all know how important they are to the Tigers.  Best wishes to both for speedy recoveries.  I saw Shenandoah play Guilford early last week and they have some good athletes.  This result does not surprise me, especially with HSC playing short-handed.  In my opinion, the Hornets will win their share in the USASAC this year.  Here's hoping HSC can get some good play off the bench until these two return at full strength.

Thanks for the news and commentary, alernon.  Sorry to hear about Troy's injury, and extend best wishes especially to Turner.

Looks like VWC made a nice second half comeback and drew within 63-61 when D'Juan Tucker got fouled on a 3-point attempt with 11 seconds to go, but he was only able to make 1 of 3 to push the final score to 63-62.  That's too bad for the Marlins since the potential was there to either tie it or take a 1-point lead.  With Wooster losing again tonight, VWC also now with two losses and St. Thomas losing since the last poll, I'd expect quite a bit of shake-up in the DIII top 25 for next week.

I am sorry to hear this.  I dislike hearing of any young athelete getting hurt, but I also dislike seeing good teams without their best players.  Both of those young men have my best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Just got off the phone with a Guilford player...sounds like they won in double overtime over Methodist.  Looks like Methodist came back from a decent deficit to force  the first overtime where one more was needed to decide the outcome.  Teh second overtime was all Guilfords.  I dont have stats of the game yet but am looking, but Ben Strong with a big game...41 points and 17 rebounds.  8-0 for the Quakers who have a very tough game next.

Tigers win against a tough New Jersey City squad in double overtime.  Prehmus hit a 3 with only 2 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and send it into overtime.

Score was 120-113 and Prehmus had 34 points in 49 minutes of play.  Mike Edwards had another 27 points.  With Troy Kaase and Turner King not playing (Troy appears to be out for the season) and Carlis Trops, Mike Edwards, and Matt Green fouling out, Cale Phillips and Lane Medlin had about 15 minutes apiece.  Fitz Robertson finished up the game at point guard.

My understanding is that New Jersey City wasn't playing 3 or 4 of their best players in yesterday's loss to Albright, for disciplinary reasons.  With those guys rested and playing again today, the Tigers did very well to come out with a win without the help of Troy and Turner.

Methodist refused to be terminated, and just kept coming.  Guilford had a nice lead early, but by halftime Methodist found their game and the lead was only six points.   Guilford never was able to move out of reach.  Methodist hit a late three to tie it in regulation.

The first overtime seemed like it would belong to Methodist, but Guilford back in it to force a second overtime.  The Quakers came within a whisker of losing it there.

Guilford started out hot in the second overtime and never really seemed in danger in that one.

Strong had a fine all around game.  Belcoski and Kimbrough really came up big, and Caleb handled the ball like a champ.  Burge emphasized defense and rebounding, as he's liked to do lately, and seemed headed for a double-double.  Snipes' shooting seemed bothered by his thumb, but he still managed to be a big factor with defense and assists.  Henson was chief thief, and Edmund came through big.  Sanborn was very efficient per minute as usual, and I wondered why I didn't see more of him.  Maybe coach could try using two trees sometime.

I need some help from my ODAC friends.  VWC beat HSU in OT 67-61, after losing to UMHB last night.  UMHB defeated Ripon tonight.

I saw HSU edge McMurry earlier this month and wasn't impressed with the play of either.  (McMurry is hurting badly from the absence of their starting point guard, since the first minute of the first game!!!) UMHB is a mid-range ASC-West team.  Either I have underestimated the strength of the ASC, or VWC is much weaker.

We now have the stomping of JHU by Mississippi College and the incredible win of UT-Dallas over D1 UT-Arlington.  Perhaps the ASC is much tougher this year.

Is VWC really still Top 25 calibre?

Thanks.

Enjoyed the Guilford/Methodist game today in Fayetteville.  Guilford streaked to an early 30-13 lead led by Belkoski's nearly flawless shooting and 15 first-half points.  MU went on a 12-0 run to cut it to 30-25 and the Quakers went to the locker room up 37-31 at the half.  The Monarchs were unbelievable from the arc in the 2nd half and forced an 80 all tie at the buzzer with a three.  Just about 6 seconds earlier Caleb Kimbrough missed the 2nd FT that would have given the Quakers a 4 point lead.  That's how close we were to avoiding OT.  MU jumped out early in the first OT (their first lead of the game), but GC tied it at 89.  The Monarchs had a chance to win at the end of the first OT, but couldn't get a shot to fall.  Guilford stole an inbounds pass with 1.9 seconds to go and actually had a 3-point attempt from mid-court that hit the rim.  In the 2nd OT, it was all Quakers from the start - I think they scored the first 12.  Strong with 31 in regulation and 41 total, but I have to tell you Radmanovic for Methodist also had a heck of a game.  I was impressed.

Two unbeaten teams in Danville Tuesday night for GC (8-0) at AU (9-0).  I just might  have to go!  lol

Nice to see a couple of posters today.  Thanks to narch and sludge for the good conversations!

'nova/sludge (and anyone else who cares) - a couple thoughts on individual players to expand on what i said on the usasac board

strong - what can i say...the kid is a stud - good post moves, good court awareness, knows when to pass out of the double and when to take on the double, doesn't force things - he's a little slower and less athletic than i thought he might be from the reports i had gotten...a couple of times radmanovic beat him badly on the dribble (and that doesn't happen often :)), but he's so long and has such good timing that he can make up for it and still alter shots, even when beaten

kimbrough - i really liked him...took care of the ball, hit some clutch 3's, cool and composed...a true pg - his shot isn't pretty, but it was effective, and he finishes better than i thought he would

snipes - had a tough night, but obviously he's a very solid player...wish he were still a monarch, but honestly, he may not have progressed the way he has at guilford had he stayed...no way he would have played as much the last 2 years as he did at guilford, and i'm sure that court time really helped him to become the player he is now

burge and belkoskie are solid role players - belkoskie really struggled on the defensive end, especially when defending shuford, and if he didn't have the big man behind him, he looks like he'd be a real defensive liability to me - i missed most of the first half, so i didn't see the offensive prowess that he flashed, 'cause he didn't do much in the 2nd half - burge seemed to do a lot of the little things...he grabbed some rebounds, fought through screens and played solid d

i expected to see a deep bench and a lot of guys playing lots of minutes, but to be honest nobody on the bench was very impressive to me tonight...in fact, even when the starters were dog tired, i was glad to see guilford go to their bench...i felt like the monarchs really had an advantage when that happened

i hope these 2 teams make it a ritual to get together every year...that was a lot of fun...too bad the students weren't there to see it!
