Tigers had a great lead .... about 15 points .... for much of the second half, but Washington and Lee narrowed the gap at the end.  Tigers won it, 66-58.

Tigers were led by Tyler Murray with 15 points and Prehmus, Edwards, Green, and King had 9-10 points each.

The Roanoke Maroons defeat the Lynchburg Hornets, 91-34.   If you're wondering whether the score I've posted is a typo, it isn't.  91-34.

That makes the Tigers' 27-point victory over the Hornets on Wednesday night look rather close!

The Hornets defeated Randolph-Macon earlier this season .......... So what is the deal?  Did the Maroons pick up some former NBA player for the second semester?

Pretty good game at the Batten Center today.  Too much Ton Ton today for the Yellow Jackets.  However, I was very impressed with RMC's intensity.  Coach Rhoades has still got it.

Their defense made life very difficult for the Marlins who needed a tough ODAC game and desperately needed to be challenged.  Good, solid win for the Marlins.

Norman Hassell finally showed up a bit and stepped up for the Marlins today.  The big fella showed that he had some range with 3 3pointers.  After a week of pumping up Stephen Fields...he let me down with 0 points in 9 minutes played.  I guess he has been reading the posts too much.   :o

Emory and Henry defeated EMU, 121-109.

Guilford defeated Bridgewater, 70-66.

Amazing.  I know Roanoke is finding its game, but that's quite a score.

On the Adair - Strong POY thing, I'd say its pretty much a wash at this point with the edge going to Strong.
Its early, and I'm no Guru.  I'm also a Guilford fan.

Strong has significantly more points, rebounds, blocks, and he's better from the line.  He does this while having very significant defensive focus on him, and he's more essential to his team.  Being 6'10" doesn't account for all this.

Adair has higher scoring efficiency, and his team is in the process of continuing a remarkable multi-year record, with maybe another national championship in the works.

There's some other guys who deserve consideration too, but these guys do stand out.

Hey, Hasanova.  I held up your end of the cheering, hope you're having a blast.  Hope to see you sometime soon.

So, I know I haven't posted here in ages, since I moved to California and unfortunately no longer live in the Commonwealth. I must say, hasanova's poetry has been making me laugh to no end though! As someone who has taken a whoooole lot of posting breaks, I'm glad yours was so short. :)

But anyway, the reason for my return - I have a story I have to share. My parents were at VA Wes today for a Tae Kwon Do tournament, and the RMC/VWC game was going on next door. My mom ran into a player from the RMC squad at some point during the day and asked him if he ever read d3hoops.com message board. When he replied yes, he asked if he had ever heard of a poster named diehardfan, and he said yes! Uhm, weird!  :-[ :-X

Anyhow, hi to the random guy at RMC who talked to my mom today. :D :D :D  Hopefully she was nice...  :o
Wait, dunks are only worth two points?!?!!!? Why does anyone do them? - diehardfan
What are Parkers now supposed to chant after every NP vs WC game, "Let's go enjoy tobacco products off-campus? - Gregory Sager
We all read it, but we don't take anything you say seriously - Luke Kasten

Between Adair & Strong: I'd vote for Adair. Strong at 6'11" has a big advantage in D-3. I just believe it is more difficult for Adair to dominate than Strong.
IF most stats are roughly equal AND VWC wins the regular season ODAC championship, I think the nod will go to the Senior Adair.  IF Strong has some significant stat advantages AND the Quakers win the regular season or finish a very close second (with a win over VWC in Greensboro), I could see it going to Junior Strong.  Just a  hunch.

Thanks.  Your game was a lot closer than NCSU and Duke.  lol  See you Sunday at 3.

As Shakespeare pointed out, the Play's the thing.

All the rest of this talk is just a bunch of sound and fury, signifying nothing!

We only make these posts because we love your game.

Those who can, do.  The rest of us can only talk about it.

So take the talk with a grain of salt.

(and apologies to the bard).

sludge - There is a very nice article about Ben and Caleb in today's Greensboro News and Record (Sports Section, page 2).  I'll bring a copy for you and others to read at this afternoon's game.  It's already starting to sleet a little in Greensboro, so be careful when you make the drive.  Nothing serious so far, but tip-off is over 5 hours away.

While reading some ODAC boxscores from Saturday's games, three things caught my eye:

Jason Sager of EMU was 12 of 12 from the floor and 2 of 2 from the line for 26 points with 10 rebounds in 31 minutes versus E&H.  Yeah, I know it was a loss and it was a "Wasps" game, but those are potential Player of the Week stats.

The LC Hornets were 10 of 57 from the floor versus Roanoke.  Oops!

The Quakers only shot 13 of 24 from the FT line in close win over BC.  I'm pretty sure this is their worst game of the year from the line, but GC will have to do better than that down the stretch.

Thanks, diehardfan.  A poem for you, as promised:

There once was a fan who's a diehard.
When talkin' 'bout hoops she's a wiz-ard.
She'll rev up her car.
Drive lanes really far.
Who else would watch CalTech play Bard?!
