Just wanted to compliment whoever puts on the ODAC tournament for having a nice event.  I went up from Maryville to see the Thursday games, especially to see "the system" run by E&H and see what last year's national championship D3 team looks like (and to decide if Maryville can beat any of y'all).  Still not sure what I think of "the system" but it is fun to watch.  Fish are impressive.  Guilford not so.  Roanoke was a handful.  Good day of viewing.

Dear POY(Poster of the Year) Senor Nova - isn't college basketball at this level the damnedest thing you have ever experienced? I can well remember the horrible feeling of one game and out during #44's first year, then it was two and out his sophomore year, three and out his junior year, and finally a championship his senior year. So, my friend, patience wins out eventually.
Yes, jww, I know you're right, but yesterday was not easy to take.  No offense meant to BC, but I would have bet a $1000 the Quakers would not be down 24 at halftime.  lol  Oh well.  :)

Hasa...if I were a gambler, I would have bet the same.  8) BTW...go ahead and offend the BC folks. They have had too much to gloat about in football in recent years.  ;D Kidding BC crew. Love ya...mean it!!  ;)

Sorry about yesterday's result. Never would have figured. I want Guilford in the NCAA's but with VWC playing my Tigers I can't pull for VWC to win.

Three ODAC teams will not make the NCAA's. If VWC is upset I'm afaird Guilford will be out; the probability is that VWC will win and Guilford will get the nod.

Good luck to all
Thanks.  I understand you have to pull for your Tigers.  I agree with your analysis:  GC's best bet is for VWC to win the ODAC tournament.  Even then it may be iffy.  We'll see.  :)

If VWC wins the ODAC and GC doesn't get in, then something is wrong with the system. I realize that one of the things that makes college basketball great is that a team like H-SC or BC can get a little run going and salvage an average season. However, a team like GC that has gotten it done all year, deserves to be in. IMHO  8) I also know so much is contingent upon what happens in other conferences as well.
OK, here is allsky7's perfect scenario (or delusion)  ;D : H-SC wins the ODAC...no upsets in other conferences...VWC, GC, & H-SC all get to dance.  ;D

Hey scottie...one MC guy to another...if I had known you were coming, I could have bought you  a cold one at Mac & Bobs. So what's your take on how the Scots stack up against the ODAC?

Ok party people, I'm off to Salem. Hope to see some of you there. With the BC upset, I'm assuming some of you BC folks will be there.
With all due respect to my friend Hasa 8).....SHOCK THE WORLD TIGERS....SHOCK THE WORLD!!  ;D

I congratulate you for making the trip as well.  Sometimes you just love basketball!  Guilford had one bad half - not a bad season.

I have to say I'm very impressed with Mike Edwards of HSC the past few games.. As a senior he has really stepped up and I would love to see him get MVP if HSC were to win it all...

Macedo's quote in the post-game interview is ultimate class.  Terrific guy and I wish them the best for a deep run through the NCAA's...

Yes ... a nice quote by Macedo, and the Marlins can return from this loss and go on to successfully defend their national title.  To win 2 national championships in a row is pretty rare, but the Marlins are capable of it.

Mike Edwards!  21 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals in 23 minutes of action.  A clutch 9 points in the last 5 minutes of play (a 3, two 2s, and 2-2 from the FT line).

Tyler Murray!  7 points and 12 rebounds in 36 minutes of play, with a block and 2 key rebounds in the last few minutes of play.

Turner King!  20 points and 4 rebounds by the freshman in 32 minutes of action.

Drew Prehmus contributed 10 points, all in the 2nd half, plus 5 rebounds.  Matt Green scored only 3, but had 3 assists and a steal in 36 minutes of action .... his ball handling and constant intensity as the team's captain were critical to the Tigers' win.  Byron Lawton, Jyri Laakso, and Lane Medlin also made good contributions in their time on the court.

Exciting win for the Tigers this afternoon, as it brings an opportunity to win the ODAC Championship once again!

Somehow, Hampden-Sydney vs. Roanoke in the ODAC Championship game has a familiar ring to it (2000 & 2001).  This season, the Tigers have played two games against Roanoke, winning by 3 (65-62) on January 21 at Roanoke and losing by 1 (80-79) on February 11 at Hampden-Sydney.  At present, the Tigers (17-10) have won 4 in a row -- with wins over Lynchburg, Randolph-Macon, Emory & Henry, and Virginia Wesleyan -- while the Maroons (17-10) have won 16 of their last 19 games, with one of their 3 losses during the stretch to Hampden-Sydney.
