Mr. Ypsi

Post-season conference loyalties can really accomplish "lions lie down with the lambs" scenarios.  Reportedly Calvin and Hope fans (mostly) cheered on each other's teams in Aurora last Friday - compared with that, peace in the Middle East should be a breeze! ;D

Ya know, -2 is a perfectly fine exponent also.

http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/58216.html

In my experience "-2' isn't what one means when one uses the term exponentially. That is however a wonderfully accurate interpretation.

Hopefully it is understood that we're pulling the wings off a fly and gaining some perverse enjoyment from watching it squirm ;).

When a fan(atic) goes overboard (especially on a chat board), they going to get some heat.

Yada, yada, yada... I can take the heat. And you will be feeling the heat from me when VWC loses in a few days.

I am SHOCKED! Did anyone else think this headline..."Give them some ducking respect"....was a little out of character? I've never seen anything like that on this site. It got my attention and subsequently, my reaction :o

Nobody attacked you.  In fact you came on our board looking to "ruffle feathers."  I don't think any ODAC fans have come on the ASC board and represented themselves the way you have on the ODAC page.

I challenge you to go back and look at your posts and your comments in each regarding VWC not having a chance, being lucky, needing miracles, stealing wins, not wanting to recognize the city of Norfolk, and even the education part (where clearly I did not read over my post and screwed that one up all on my own).  Did you expect no response?

I think the real reason is that you are hyped up about the game and a little pissed that VWC got the home court game and not MC.  In turn, you decided to "ruffle feathers" on the ODAC board.  We aren't the NCAA and didn't make the decisions (although we are glad the game is at home in our little Batten Center).  Let's try to just be fans and comment on what really matters...the game.

Again, I can't wait to see this game on Friday.

Note:  Can my editors please look over this post and send back my grammar and spelling errors?  I didn't know I was being tested on a board.

Hasa is the Editor In Chief...The Grand Poobah!!! I'd even bet his favorite color is red....as in ink.  ;D ;D I'm sure he wouldn't mind taking a look at your post.
Hey, allsky7.  I'm a little behind in my reading, so I just noticed your post.   I'm not the Editor in Chief!  If I was, I'd have a staff.  lol  Do you have me mixed up with a Hall of Famer?  They're the people who know their stuff!  I was a math major, so what do I know?  The '68 Nova is red, however, so maybe you're right about my favorite color!  :)

Yes, I saw it as well.  I also thought it was a bit out of character for this site.  My first thought was, "What?!  Did they really use this for a headline?"  I believe in pushing the envelope a little, but I personally wouldn't have used that headline.  If it's intended to catch your attention, it did that, but I think it ran somewhat a"fowl" of good taste.  :)

njlincolnlion,

I always enjoy your posts and it seems you are pretty close with Lincoln.  Couple questions for you.   What did your DIII Hoops POY  Kyle M.(sp) end up doing after college?  Is he playing over seas?    Also, has Lincoln looked into joining a conference vs. staying independent?

Thanks

Airborne:  I won't "feel the heat" if VWC loses.  If that happens, they did so in the Sweet 16 vs. an extremely talented MC team.  This is going to be a battle.  The road to the championship goes through the defending national champs and if MC happens to beat them in the Batten Center, then they desearve all the credit.  There will be no shame for whoever loses this game....the same is to be said in the Lincoln and Guilford game.  The 2007 national champ is probably going to be a team that plays in the Batten Center this Friday night....

Kyle Myrick was drafted in the fourth round last year in the USBL (United States Basketball League) Northeast Pennsylvania franchise that is now defunct.  Gerry McNamara (Syracuse, round 1), Steve Burtt (Iona, round 2, and Lee Melchionni (Duke, round 3) were drafted ahead of Myrick for the NEPA team.  The last I heard, Kyle was trying to hook up with a team in Europe.

Regarding, Lincoln, joining a conference, this will be Lincoln's last year in DIII.  Next year will be the Lions provisional year in DII, and the following year Lincoln joins the CIAA (Central Intercollegiate Athletis Association) conference of which Lincoln was a founding member in 1912.

The CIAA is mainly in NC, MD and VA, but they've lost a few teams with Winston-Salem State going DI and, I heard, North Carolina Central planning to do the same.  I knew it was Lincoln's last year in DIII, but I didn't know they were planning to join the CIAA.  Good luck with your new venture!  I've never attended in person, but I hear their annual conference tournament is a "happening"!

Winston Salem State has already left for the DI MEAC (conference), and this is North Carolina Central's last year before joining the MEAC.

This years CIAA conference won by Elizabeth City State University (NC) upsetting perennial power Virginia Union University was held at the Bobats Arena in Charlotte, NC and  broadcasted by ESPN.  From the looks of the tournament on ESPN it looked like everyone was having a great time.

Go Lincoln!     Go Independents!
