Speaking of the Senior game with the USASAC, there are only seven ODAC teams represented.  BC has no seniors and VWC's in the Final Four that weekend, but there also aren't any men from R-MC.   They have four Seniors - Guards Sisson, Sutherland and Krovic as well as Forward Phil Hawley.   The Jackets are conspicuous by their absence and I was just curious why none are playing.

I don't believe in curses.  I predicted last year the Marlins' bye , the home court advantage, and winning the Final Four.   No one gave them a chance against Illinois Wesleyan.  Everyone was thinking they would get slaughtered.  I simply believe in them enough to hope for a victory.   If they lose,  it will not be because they didn't give it their all and I will think no less of them.. Coach Macedo and Co. will have them as prepared as they possibly can be and it is up to the Marlins after that.  I have just never seen them give up whether down by a 2 points or a dozen.  Ton, play your game, and don't change it for anyone.  Trash talking is part of the game.  As Nova said, players are old enough to take some heat and criticism.  They can take you talking trash.  Coach Macedo  wants you on the floor...That is good enough for me.  Go Marlins!!!

Here is a link to Wooster's Final Four website.  Good luck to the Marlins this weekend, and safe travels to all who are heading to Salem!  :)

My prediction is that Virginia Wesleyan will defeat Wooster in the national championship game.

My prediction has a 12.5% (1 out of 8 ) chance of being right simply by chance ..... so why not put it out there?  Then, if my prediction comes true, I can crow about my guru-ness!   ;D
What do you say, by chance, if it's in the  87.5% (which assumes, by the way, that each of the four teams has a 50% chance of winning any given game) that equals your potential "unguru-ness"?  lol

I'll have to think about that ..... as you say, there is statistically an 87.5% chance that I will be "disgurued" by my prediction, assuming that each team has an equal chance of winning each individual game.

But I don't think that each team has an equal chance of winning each game ..... I saw the Marlins win the whole thing last year in Salem, I don't believe they have lost anything, they've got a fabulous POY in Adair, a potentially fatal shooting guard in Ton Ton, a killer rebounder/3-point shooter in Fantin, and great weapons in Sumpter, Dixon, Tucker, and whoever else I'm forgetting.

And I think that Amherst will finish fourth in the Final Four once again, so I'm sticking with the prediction.  Maybe I'll be lucky enough to crow .... and I'll start thinking about excuses for my mistaken prediction, if necessary, after tomorrow evening's semifinals.

I think it's very curious, too.  What is the deal in Ashland?

There's "crowing" and "eating crow".  Sadly, I have much more experience with the latter.  lol  Here's hoping, however, that you have much more "luck" with your predictions than I do.  :)  Go Marlins!  Go ODAC!

Based on what I've seen of VWC (which is way too much), I think it is the 'great weapons in Sumpter, Dixon, Tucker' and the 'whoever else'  that will make the difference and put VWC over the top.  Quite a team.

Yep.  I've eaten more crow over the past 9 months than anyone else on this board.  I can recommend appropriate wines, vegetables, and several different ways of presentation! :D

I'm resigned to the fact that if you can't beat the ODAC, then join them  ;D .

The Fishtank has become a "second home" to Lincoln, abet a bad home court having lost consectutive sweet sixteen games by one point  :( .

Lincolnlion, I think Lincoln might have matched up pretty well with VWC, if you had played them.

One of VWC's unsung heroes and someone who hardly ever gets any ink is senior  Rodney Young. Go Marlins!

Hey, NJLION, come on down to Norfolk. I'm sure President Greer will find something for you to do! ;D
