I hope HSC is bringing in as many recruits as they are FBI Agents !!!!

What is the word locally concerning what I saw on the local news last night ?

Here is the article posted on the WSET web site today. It also contains my SA post about how the headline was written. Just can't help myself sometimes.  :D Hasa really will get chest pains if he sees how poorly it is written.  ;D

Hey, this is too bad.  As the saying goes, "this isn't good for anyone."

Ouch! I just e-mailed the story to my son, Jay, a 1995 HSC alum. It's a different time and place we live in now, isn't it?

We all make poor decisions and we just have to learn how to live with them !!!!!!

I'm on the other end of your story .... I was kind of leaning towards RMC, liked Coach Keller... and Coach Nunnally was a life long friend as he started coaching us in baseball at a very young age and stayed in touch through our HS sports ...

Than one day a very wise man advised I was not going to attend RMC and explaned why.... I was going to attend HSC. That wise old man of course was my father.

My point .... both schools are wonderful however I really love the trend and feeling I have had come the second Saturday in November in recent years, can only pray that continues !!!!! Believe it or not, I actually made a financial contribution to RMC this past year. My hand was shaking the entire time as I wrote that damn check !!!!!!

Glad your dad was able to get you straightened out. Too bad jacket didn't have someone to get him on the right track. All those generations of Macon grads in his family was just too much to overcome I guess.  ;D ;D
Speaking of fathers and life's strange turns.....I am a former fitness director / aquatics director for the Patrick Henry YMCA in Ashland. The day the job was offered to me, my father happened to be with me and we road through the R-MC campus. As we pulled into the parking lot beside the football field we both looked at each other. It was one of those moments that we both knew exactly what the other was thinking and no comment was necesasary. The thought was who on earth would have ever thunk that I would be living in Ashland, VA, supervising R-M students, and on occasion, teaching swimming lessons in the Estes Center pool.  :o
Many posters on this board are familiar with my situation. You may or may not be. My father is a H-S alum and coached there from the late 60's through the early 80's. I grew up on the campus there so needless to say, I have been a Tiger fan for many years.  GO TIGERS!!

Don't forget the Virginia natives who, through no fault of their own, had to migrate to the south side of the state line.  :)

Hey, jacketlawyer.  I'm just kidding with you guys.  lol  Patrick County is still a part of the Commonwealth even if it just feels like it's "on another planet" from time to time.  The county seat is "Stuart" and it used to be part of bigger "Patrick Henry" County, so it's definitely all Virginia!  :)  I will give you an email in just a few minutes - thanks for asking.

It's not good for the 7 guys who were arrested on federal charges of selling cocaine or marijuana, nor for the 7 guys arrested on state charges of selling various illegal drugs.  It's sad that they didn't make better choices.

In the end, it may actually be good for Hampden-Sydney College -- if it makes it clear to students and the public that drug laws are enforced on campus.

It goes without saying that none of our basketball players were involved in this.  In fact, of the 14 students who were arrested and administratively suspended, only 1 student was engaged in intercollegiate athletics (a 3rd string lacrosse player).

jdubyadubya

Algernon - wouldn't it go without saying that drug laws are enforced on the HSC campus?

Speaking of trouble on college campuses, what in the world is going on this morning at Va Tech in Blacksburg?!!!!

jdubyadubya

Someone killed 20 students. It's ghastly to even imagine such a thing.

I absolutely cannot understand!  I just turned on CNN and they said 22 dead and 28 injured.  Why?!!
