Your lack of agreement is duly noted. But so was the name-calling, both of a conference and a poster. I don't know what result you expected from that, but I think what happened was somewhat predictable.

Thanks Pat!  Please respond to my PM.  I would like your thoughts.

What is the date for the beginning of basketball season?  Is it October 15?

algernon

If so, it is less than 6 weeks until the beginning of practice, roster decisions, etc.

it's always oct. 15 unless the ncaa decided to change it this year.

Hampden-Sydney has 20-21 players out for the team .... 12 returnees (Troy Kaase, Tyler Murray, Drew Prehmus, Turner King, Lane Medlin, Byron Lawton, Fitz Robertson, Jyri Laakso, Cale Philips, Hakeem Croom, John Barker, and Larry Henshaw) ... plus 8-9 freshmen.

Any interesting news from around the ODAC?  I wonder what Randolph-Macon's freshmen look like.

October 15 is a Monday this year.  So there could be some Midnight Madness late on Sunday night, before the guys get up for Monday morning classes?

As do I.  Haven't heard anything, though. :-[

RMC's out-of-conference games are against:

(Maybe) Albright (10-14) at the Albright Tournament
Christopher Newport (15-11)
Muhlenberg (10-15)
Arcadia (11-14) or N.C. Wesleyan (12-15)
Immaculata (12-16)
Hamilton (19-7) or Elms (20-9)

This is a rather fluffy out-of-conference schedule for the Yellow Jackets, compared to past years.  I wonder what the thinking was or how this happened, given that RMC has scheduled much tougher out-of-conference matchups in recent years (with games against teams like Lincoln, St. John Fisher, DePauw, Aurora, Virginia Union, UW-Platteville, and John Carroll).

they don't return much this year is one logical explanation, at least in my opinion.

Hope everybody had a good summer. Bridgewater's schedule is now up.

http://www.bridgewater.edu/index.php?id=901

The Penn State Behrend doubleheader includes Baldwin-Wallace and Fredonia. The Eagles play the host team opening night.

The Oglethorpe doubleheader includes Mt. St. Vincent. BC plays Ogelthorpe on the second night here. Not sure who the 4th team is in this doubleheader.

There is the annual Don Glick invitational and other EMU (I would assume)...not sure who's in this doubeheader.

And Bridgewater plays Randolph College at home to round out the OOC schedule.

I'll leave it up to those who know better to dissect this schedule.

Steely - Can you feel it? The momentum is building for another outstanding year for the ODAC Power Conference. What a shootout it will be! Back in March, the pre-pre season(heck, the 06/07 season had just concluded!), some of the prognosticators chose their picks for the 07/08 season. Here are mine and I'm stickin' to them: VWC, GC, HSC, BC, RMC, E&H, W&L, RC, EMU, LC. Good luck to all as we crank it up.  ;D

I know they have either 9 or 10 freshman in class. Three are 6'8 or bigger, but I don't know how good they are.
