VWC has posted their roster with the first year players...

http://www.vwc.edu/athletics/mbasketball/roster/0708roster.php

Looks like they've added a lot of frontcourt muscle (Jabez Wallace, Julius Carlton, Brandon Allen, Quantrell Simmons, etc.)

should be an interesting year for randolph college basketball. no one over 6'3" on a 10-man roster.

I just took a peak...maybe they have a secret weapon as 1 kid doesn't have his height listed. Or could it be that they just don't know how tall he is??  :D

VWC: Interesting. Missing from last year's roster are Stephen Coy, Tory Green, Zac Green, TJ Williams, and Tony Alexander. New adds are supposed to be Darren Potts(Kellam), Everett Banks(Portsmouth Christian), and Jabez Wallace(Trinity Episcopal). Anybody know why Ari did not return?

I've heard CNU has a lot of transfers.......hmm.....I think CNU announces the roster next Friday night....I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for that list, GQ.  The roster looks plausible and good, but I regret to not see Barry Wells in there.

sanborn is going to be a beast, so i think the quakers can deal without having barry wells.

Just stopped by to say "hey" to all you hoopsters and let you know that we football knuckleheads are on the way.  ;) Enjoy your last few weeks of peace and quiet.  :D

Barry will be greatly missed.  Though he didn't get many minutes last season, guys like him are a main reason the Quakers had a good year in 06-07.  This years team would have been much better with him but I hear he is doing well at UNCG.  He's not playing there, just a student, but he still likes it.

I've also heard Sanborn is greatly improved in the off-season.  I understand he's worked on his conditioning and he joined Ben Strong at Pete Newell's Big Man Camp.  The Quakers have a formidable duo in the frontcourt - I expect to see both of them on the court at the same time a lot this year.

Roanoke's roster is posted. They have a 6'7" freshman that only weighs 195 lbs!!
That's probably one of the reasons he's on a DIII roster.  If he has some basketball skill and athleticism, they'll put him on a diet and weight training program.

6'7" 195 lbs. pretty much sounds like Pete Warren his freshman year. He turned out OK.  ;D
