Scottie, thanks for the update.  That is good news.  I used the hospital link to send the boys a "get well soon" message in NY.  I encourage others to do the same.  Peace

My heart and prayers go out to all involved in the terrible tragedy that occurred last week.

Mr. Nova,
I of course will be there Wednesday.  You missed a huge crowd against Villa on the 17th.  They were manned by a large student section including the Guilford College football team and other athletes.  The word is that they are heading down the road on Wednesday to cheer on the Quakers.  With Greensboro's gym being so small I actually think seating may become a problem.  I have a feeling people are going to be turned away that dont show up in a timely fashion.  Fire Marshall is on the prowl according to Palombo. I actually plan on getting up there at least 2 hours before tip off, so I wanted to let you know that seating may be hard to come by.  Hope to see you there.

Hey, cooper.  Sorry I had to miss on the 17th, but I had a good time in Boone.  I heard it was a spirited crowd.  With luck, I'll be at all other games in Greensboro this year.  If I catch a break at work on Wednesday, I can be there around 6, but that's about as early as I can make it.  I don't want to miss it, but I think the crowd will be overflow as well.  Maybe I'll pack a sandwich and just go straight there after work.  I'll look for you.  Go Quakers!

Guilford and VWC both moved up one in the top 25 poll. Amherst is back on top - made a big move!

Yeah, I saw that.  Washington U. couldn't hang on to first after dropping two games in their first five.  Congratulations to VWC!  Guilford's only 1-0, but they'll get a tough test in a hostile, packed house tomorrow night at Greensboro.  I'll be there.  Go Quakers!

Nova - we all look forward to your report on Thursday morning after the BIG game :D

i love watching 'nova prime the pump in case the #3 quakers don't get it done in hanes gym...gcp has played 4 games and gcq has only played once, hanes is a hostile environment, it will be a packed house...:)

by the way, i agree...the quakers will have to bring it to win tonight, but i think ultimately they will win by 12 or more

on another usasac vs. odac note, i watched mu vs. ehc last night...my comments are on the usasac board if you care to read them...but i will say that "the system" or the "fun-n-gun" or whatever they call it wouldn't win many games in the usasac and i'm shocked they've won as many games as they have in the odac over the last few years - i do wonder if having a veteran coach like bob johnson on the sidelines may have helped them make some in-game adjustments, though...i'm not criticizing the current coaching staff because they're in a tough situation, but they didn't adjust to what the monarchs were doing in the second half and pretty much every possession was a carbon copy of the previous one (mu shot over 72% in the second half...77% on 2 point shots)

narch, as usual, my carefully worded entries are not lost on you.  lol  I  think the Quakers will win as well.  Go Quakers!

Narch, I enjoyed your comments on E&H.  One game with Guilford really sticks in my mind.  The Wasps attempted over ninety (99?) three-point shots and the Quakers attempted zero.  The result?  A 148-136 Quaker victory (If that's not the exact score, forgive me.  I didn't take the time to look it up, but I'm close.)  I think the Quakers were in the 75-80% range on their shots as well.  It is an entertaining style of play, but generally speaking, I'm not a fan either.

Try playing them at their house though, after that bus ride.  Its not easy, at least it wasn't last year.

And I bet Bob Johnson had the heat cranked up in that gym too 8)

is it just me or does it sound like he is indirectly saying the ODAC sucks?

Hey, jww, they're all BIG!  lol  Work is tough right now, but I intend to be there tomorrow night with coopersharpe, sludge, the Guilford football team, et. al.

PS  jww, some games are just a tad BIGGER than others.  BTW, both VWC games are marked on my calendar and I'm sure they are on yours as well.  :)

narch, are you going to attend when Methodist visits Guilford December 5?  I know it may be tough for you to travel on a week night, but if it's anything like last year it'll be an exciting game.  Let me know.  Peace

That's Narch! But we like 'em anyway!  :D
