With this week's success, it seems to me RMC (10-2, 3-1) should start getting a few Top 25 votes ... thoughts?

Yep.  But don't want to do anything to disrupt their mojo, either. 8)

Yep.  Sometimes being ranked puts an added target on your back.  At any rate, the Jackets are doing great!

I agree with Macon here, plus it makes Mason's 27 point 8 rebound game against them look even more impressive!  :) lol

Then what does that say about my Gennies beating them?;D

I'm all for it - give R-M some love in this week's poll.

It says "if you take W&L lightly, you do it at your own peril!"  What's that old adage about the NFL ... "on any given Sunday ..."?  I think it'll be interesting to see where we all stand after Wednesday night's games!

GP05, baslinejam, Nova - thanks for your comments on that game. I listened to some of it on the net but it became too painful....kind of like bouncing down a pothole-filled road with hemorrhoids. OUCH! Why apologize Nova? It is what it is...unruly, mouthy fans. Every gym has them. We haven't heard from Rev. Matty yet and he said he would be there. I think that was a season-defining game for the Marlins...they needed the win for the momentum. I can't imagine Balenga going 0 for nothing. Good defense by Guilford if that was the case. The Tigers come to the Batten Center on Wednesday. We'll see.
The game was certainly uncharacteristic of what I've come to expect from VWC over the past few years, but this is the post-Adair era.  I'm enjoying this year now, but I expect to see some of the same metamorphosis from Guilford after Strong, Kimbrough and Belkoski graduate in May.  Good programs know how to reload, however, so we'll see.  It's quite clear guys like Adair and Strong come along very rarely at this level, so I feel quite fortunate to have seen both of them play.   I was equally surprised to see Tonton wear the collar yesterday.   Granted, he only took 5 shots, but he was closely guarded.  Strong got 23/15, but I think the GC guards and stellar FT-shooting were the keys to yesterday's victory.  Not sure if it was a "season-defining game" for the Marlins, but I think it was a wake-up call that they're not the only big fish in the ODAC ocean.  The RMC game and injuries leave some questions, but I think Guilford is still the team to beat in the conference.

Interesting site I stumbled upon that lists small college (NAIA, DII and DIII) seniors with a shot at the NBA draft.  Ben Strong is one of two DIII players mentioned.

Definitely.  My bet is that Guilford will fall from #11 to #16, that Virginia Wesleyan will fall from #17 to #25, that Randolph-Macon will jump into the Top 25 at #22, and that Roanoke won't get as many votes.

;)

I hope they leave the Jackets right below the radar screen. They are doing it with some young players. If at the end of playing every league team once they still are going strong then show them some respect! Make them prove they deserve it.

I agree, has.  And I look forward to playing RMC at their place.  There's a tradition of remarkable games in that gym.  It would be sweet to have Tyler back, but I look forward to it either way.

Can't spend much time on that, though.  The proven dangerous Roanoke Maroons are up next.  We'll have to get after it to win it;  they play large.

Man, I don't care what anybody says, the ODAC can go toe to toe with any other D3 conference in the country.

Right now, I'd say the the voters favor the NESCAC, UAA and WIAC, but I'd love to see some head-to-head match-ups.  The ACC and the Big Ten do it.  The SEC and the Big 12 do it.  Other than airfares and no TV contract, what's stopping us?  :)

Now, hasanova, don't go disrespecting my CCIW or I'll disrespect your car! ;D

I don't see any Final Four teams in the CCIW currently, but our 8th place team (whoever that may be - they're currently ALL 1-1 in conference!) would kick butt against any other conference's cellar-dweller.  Unfortunately there just aren't enough inter-regional games to say for sure, but I'd guess our top halves are roughly even (perhaps slight edge to the ODAC), but I'd bet the ranch on our bottom half. ;)

Looks like we have the battle of the conferences heating up. Quote below is from the UAA board.

With the start of UAA play underway, I think it should be noted of the rediculous non-conference record racked up by UAA teams. 69-14. As of today, all teams in the UAA are above .500. Also there are 3 (hopefully 4) teams in the top 25. With numbers like that, I dare anyone to name a better conference top to bottom in the country.

Oops!  Sorry.  I didn't mean to do that, especially with three CCIW teams solidly in the Top 25.  That's what you get when you type off the cuff with a faulty memory!  :)
