With this week's success, it seems to me RMC (10-2, 3-1) should start getting a few Top 25 votes ... thoughts?

Definitely.  My bet is that Guilford will fall from #11 to #16, that Virginia Wesleyan will fall from #17 to #25, that Randolph-Macon will jump into the Top 25 at #22, and that Roanoke won't get as many votes.

;)

I was close, but not quite .... The new Top 25 poll has Guilford falling from #11 to #17, Virginia Wesleyan falling from #17 to #22, Randolph-Macon jumping into the Top 25 at #25, and Roanoke getting more votes ... going from #33 to #30.  Three ODAC teams in the Top 25 indicates a lot of respect for the conference, as there should be.

Hampden-Sydney (8-3) is still not getting any votes, understandably, given their recent losses to Guilford and Bridgewater.  However, the Tigers will get votes and could possibly jump into the Top 25 if they were to get wins in Virginia Beach tomorrow and at home against the Yellow Jackets on Saturday.

I agree, has.  And I look forward to playing RMC at their place.  There's a tradition of remarkable games in that gym.  It would be sweet to have Tyler back, but I look forward to it either way.

Can't spend much time on that, though.  The proven dangerous Roanoke Maroons are up next.  We'll have to get after it to win it;  they play large.

There have been some absolutely crazy games between the Quakes and Jackets in Ashland.  "The Shot" game comes clearly to mind. :o

One should never overlook Roanoke.

It would be hard to ever top "The Shot" game, but who knows.  :)  Roanoke can be tough - the Quakers lost to the Maroons on their home court last season!

Anyone going to the R-M/H-S game this Saturday at Fleet?  Should be nothing special. . . . ;)

After a rather lengthy, action-packed and epic holiday season, I'm back in the D3 hoops swing of things.  Thinking of making the bucolic drive to Farmville for an afternoon of idle entertainment. :D

Jacketlawyer .... I agree with you, that it shouldn't be anything special on Saturday.  Please share this assessment with all of your friends who are Yellow Jacket fans, to let them know that it's probably not worth making the terribly long drive down from Ashland to Hampden-Sydney ....  ;)

"The game" is hoops creme de la crema
Should he stay or should he go?  The dilemma!
His stomach is rocking and roiling.
The heat in the gym will be boiling!
A Jacket should know thy Fleet enema!

Wish I could be there, too! Should be a good one!  :)

How well I know Roanoke can be dangerous ...

Not sure why your knowledge of Roanoke is dangerous. :)

I know I am delayed in responding to the VA Wes-Guilford game but I wanted to say some things....I am not suprised that TonTon put up a donut against Guilford.  He started the game off by talking smack to the student section and making inapproprate gestures about female students sitting in the crowd.  The student section rode him hard, mostly because last year he continued to shoot the bird to the crowd after he made a shot.  No birds this year as he badly missed on most of his attempts.  Four years of watching VA Wes play and I have yet to see them win or lose with class.  Just my opinions based on things I have seen first hand.

Hey, cooper, sorry to hear that.  I didn't see Tonton gesturing to the crowd this year as he did last year, but I wasn't as close to the action as you and Genaro (and Tonton had a bad game!).  I saw you guys on the front row, so you and Genaro could certainly see and hear better than I could.  When you and Lawhorn played, how much "smack" was being talked on the court - by both sides - in a GC/VWC game or, for that matter, in any big ODAC contest?

One of the greatest games was when the Tigers visited Crenshaw a few years back. Funny thing though, the Tigers didn't play the Jackets. Tigers cutting down the Crenshaw nets on their way to Salem had to really "sting". A sight that I imagine still traumatizes Jacket folk to this very day ;D
Jacket....couldn't resist.  ;) Enjoy your ride down to Mayberry Saturday. Wish I could make it. I'm sure it will be fun.

I remember that game very well, as I got to see it first hand. ;)

I haven't had much time to review the boards lately.  Has anyone seen 3sdown, steelyglen or jeloesel?  What gives? ???
