Scottie I would have expected nothing else. The stakes are SOOO big I'm sure the pressure must be intense.  But I suppose once a Hornet...

Everybody choked, but they won? You can't choke AND win, choking means you choked away a win and ended up losing...

Ever heard of using a space after, and periods, exclamation points, etc.?
A little testy this morning Scottie?I meant at the FOUL LINE....and they did choke.Roanoke just didn't take advantage of it.Had they hit their shots after the misses it would have been lights out.We were lucky.Sorry -didn't know we were being graded on our english.Must be that RMC education.......

So, jacketlawyer, how much consultation time would one get with a lawyer for .02?  I figure about half a second - or am I undercharging?!  :)  lol

Nice weekend by the Jackets!  Looks like the Quakers have no room for error in their last 5 ODAC games!

PS  I don't want to play Roanoke, W&L, VWC, RMC, and so on and so on .... again!  Of course, GC has to play HSC, BC, EMU, W&L and E&H again before the tournament - Salem will be really tough this year!  Pick your poison, but it should be interesting!

Jacketlawyer-They should have gotten us yesterday-we were ripe to get picked!and I wouldn't relish the thought of playing them again, either. But,as hasanova says,WHO do you want to get? This tournament is going to be BRUTAL-whoever wins it will certainly earn it.....

Well, W&L has come back down to earth a little bit after the tough weekend road swing.

Of the Generals five remaining games, here are my thoughts:

E&H at home -- should be a W
Lynchburg at home -- ditto
at H-S -- always a tough place to play, but with H-S having a down year, I'm hoping for a W
Guilford at home -- toughest opponent left but I really do think the Gennies can take this one.
at BC -- this one could go either way, hoping for a W

I guess what I'm saying is that I feel all of W&L's remaining games are winnable.  Worst case scenario, W&L takes the E&H and LC games at home and drops the other 3, which would put them at 10-8 in the ODAC (likely 5th/6th seed range).

At any rate, the 8 ODAC wins have already secured this as W&L's best ODAC record in a long long time, since before the Roommie even followed things.

When I surmise W&L's chances in the tourney against the rest of the conference, I can't help but get a feeling that the Generals match up best with the Quakers.  VaWes's athleticism and running style always seems to give W&L a nightmare game.  I haven't followed the Jackets enough to know whats up with them.  The Gennies vs Quakers match-up is a frontcourt-dominated half-court style of play.  I'm looking forward to seeing what W&L does with Guilford in Lexington next week...then we'll see how I feel about this hypothesis.

I think W&L can go deep in the tournament.  Too difficult to beat the same team three time in a row, and I believe the statistics will catch up for the Gennies' favor at tournament time.  I'd also put the Maroons in this category, and H-S, for that matter.

I think a low seed could win it this year, and upsets happen.  I remember all too well LC beating us in the first round a few years back.  That loss had me in the corner for a few days, sucking my thumb. 8)

I think just about any team that makes the tournament has the potential to make a run.  It's all about 1) getting hot at the right time and 2) getting a decent draw.  A team like W&L definitely doesn't want to see VWC again; that style is difficult for them.  Every team has styles they're strong and weak against.  There won't be an easy road to the ODAC championship by any means, but for some teams a certain path may be substantially less difficult.  I'm looking forward to it.
