If a certain ODAC team advances to the semifinals on Saturday, I'm seriously thinking about making the trip.  :)  I hope to see some old friends and also meet some folks I know only through these posts.  Everyone drive carefully and enjoy the games!

Following algernon's logic, the Quakers can finish as low as 21-6 (assumes first round losses in both the ODAC and the NCAA) or as good as 30-4 (assumes a year-ending 22-game winning streak with ODAC and NCAA titles).  After some lackluster results in the 90's and early 00's, Guilford's program seems to be on much more solid ground.  Obviously, 2008-09 will be a dramatically different team, but I'm enjoying this year and I'm quite happy to see the Quakers back on track!

Hasa...I will be there Friday for the Macon game and hopefully, most of the BC/VWC game. The GF wants to go see the Roanoke women Sat. if they win tomorrow. If H-S beats the Jackets, I WILL be there Saturday night. I'm thinking that I WILL be there Saturday night.  ;)  I'll look for you. You'll be sitting in the Tiger section.....right?  :D

I'd bet serious money that they will finish a lot closer to 30-4 than 21-6. ;)

Hope to see you, allsky.  I'm an ODAC fan and a Guilford fan, so there are times I can be an HSC fan.  :)  Just don't expect it if the Quakers meet the Tigers in the finals!  lol

I've got a good feeling about this year - so I hope you're right!

Congratulations to Ben and Greg on the Josten's nominations. Prestigious award. Good luck to all the teams this weekend. This will be the first year since #44's freshman year that we've missed the ODACs in Salem. Just promise me that someone will enjoy a meal at Mac & Bob's.

You got it J double WW!!  ;) Haven't eaten there since my sis was a Maroon. (late 80's)  I did drink there about 10-12 years ago with my softball buddies after we stunk up Moyer Complex one weekend.  Geez...just occured to me that my sis AND GF are Maroons.  :o Good grief!!  Well...at least they didn't go to the lemon and black school along the tracks.  :D :D

     GO TIGERS!!

W&L's lets us know that Greg made 1st Team & that Strong was POY. The ODAC site says nothing yet. Has anyone else checked their favorite college site for other announcements?

I heard

Tyler Fantin made 1st Team
Ton Ton Belenga made 2nd Team
Stephen Fields made honorable mention

Go Marlins.  Takin home the ODAC.

Last year 20 players made 1st, 2nd or honorable mention. Please explain how Kusimo didn't make honorable mention. He 's 26 in ppg, 12 in rpg, 2 in fg%(16th in D3), 7 in blocks and 8 in offensive boards. It is difficult for me to believe that those stats don't put Femi in the top 20 players in the ODAC.

No major surprises on all conference teams...I thought Hutchinson is very deserving for COY after the year they had, obviouly Strong was the class of the league for the 2nd year in a row, and Jordan Brown took FOY in a runaway.

Not sure if it is required or not, but it was good to see every team represented throughout the all conference teams.  The one anomaly is HSC with 3 players represented from a team that was 8-10 in the conference and 14-11 overall, while W&L only gets one player from their team that was 11-7 in conference and 15-10 overall.  I would have to think that Hutch nominated more than just Bienemann for all-conference, but who knows...

On to the tourney, some exciting match-ups today and certainly tonight, I will be checking through out the afternoon to see what happens.  Good Luck to everyone, Go Jackets!

Allsky,

Six per team? What is this ... Tibetian Yak wrestling?   :D

Three or four teams of 5 might have been a little more logical ... but I like it. An effort was made to hand out more atta boys, to recognize more guys efforts and accomplishments ... you gotta appreciate that.

It shows your selectors heads were in the right place ... as opposed to stuck up somewhere dark and smelly ...   ;)
