Congrats to Ben Strong for being the South Region Player of the Year, Ton Ton Balenga for 2nd Team South region, and Tyler Fantin and Greg Bienemann for 3rd Team South Region.
That's great.  My congratulations to all as well.  Brian, thanks for the update.

Based on returning players, how do you guys see the ODAC next year?
I assume RMC returns the most talented & experienced team, but in order
project the league top to bottom for next season. I'm really out of the loop
but very interested to see what your response(s) might be !!!!

what are you all doing in the odac

Wow.

The job market must be tougher than I realized ...  Apparently, Randolph College feels it's a good idea to make their students aware of as many career opportunities as possible.

I guess it's never a bad idea to have a Plan B to fall back on ...   :o

Roanoke is looking for a mascot. Not a nickname, but something to symbolize Maroons.

How about Elmer Fudd.................ya know, because Bugs was always calling him a maroon.

Austin High School in Texas has already taken Mr. Maroo.

Any word on HSC b'ball recruits ? I hope Bubba is having as good of a recruiting year as your boys out at Maryville. Sounds like they loaded up the truck with talent based on the info posted on the other message board.
No wonder they are in the tourney every year !!!!

Haven't seen or heard a thing. Don't know if that means Bubba isn't getting them or just not being made public. I think likely the latter.
As for the Fighting Scots....I suspect that Coach Lambert resigning as AD was for one reason....to get past Jackson, MS and on to Salem to win a NC!! I look forward to seeing the Scots in Salem in the next few years.  ;D

May be the earliest I have ever seen a Bridgewater schedule released. I'm sure there will be some changes/tweaks to this schedule but nice to see it out and something to look forward to. I noticed in the article Coach Leatherman referred to an "unbalanced" league schedule. Glad to see the ODAC is NOT going to a 20-game league schedule. It looks like 14 league games have been scheduled so far in the BC schedule. Note the November game with D-1 Radford? Not an exhibition...

Just some idle spring time hoops chatter...anybody esle got any more news on the new look ODAC?

Randolph-Macon's schedule is up. Sixteen ODAC games with only one game against  EMU at home and Guilford, Roanoke and E&H away. All other ODAC teams twice. A double -header at H-SC  with Richard Stockton and Muskingham Uand in the Wooster Tip Off Tournament! Lebanon Valley, Ursinus amd Frostburg State come to Crenshaw Gym late December for the Christmas Classic.

Penn State's Hilliary Scott Named LC Head Men's Basketball Coach

LYNCHBURG, VA – He's coming home. Lynchburg native and former Penn State University assistant Hilliary Scott was announced Thursday afternoon as the new head men's basketball coach at Lynchburg College.

Scott attended local E.C. Glass High School and played his collegiate basketball at nearby Roanoke College. As a Maroon, he was a two-time National Association of Basketball Coaches All-American in 1993 and 1994 and was named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Player of the Year in his senior season. Scott graduated from Roanoke in May of 1994 with a degree in religion and philosophy, and was inducted into the RC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.

"I'm extremely excited to be the next head men's basketball coach at Lynchburg College," said Scott. "It is truly a pleasure to be associated with such a great institution.  My family and I are blessed to have the opportunity to be home again, in more ways than one - in Lynchburg, the ODAC as well as Division III.  We are looking forward to the process of building a successful program."

Scott has been an assistant coach at Penn State University for the last five seasons, helping the Division I Nittany Lion program to double-digit win totals in each of the last three campaigns. He also worked for five seasons as an assistant coach at East Tennessee State (1998-99 season through 2002-03). The Buccaneers won three-straight Southern Conference North Division Titles and an NCAA Tournament berth in 2002-03.

Before entering the coaching ranks, Scott played professional basketball in Europe for two teams. As a member of the Killester Basketball Club (Dublin, Ireland), he played from 1994-96 and averaged over 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists a game. Scott joined the Chester Jets (England) for the 1996-97 season and contributed 15 points and six boards a game.

"We are very happy as an athletic program to have Hilliary lead our men's basketball program," said Lynchburg College director of athletics, Dr. Jack Toms. "He has a great knowledge of the game and will be an extremely good leader and role model for young men in the Hornet basketball program. We expect to steadily improve under Hilliary's guidance."

Congratulations to LC and Hilliary Scott.  It sounds as though the Hornets have made a wise and natural choice.  Welcome back to Virginia and the ODAC!
