I think it will be both interesting and exciting to see how Coach Vick decides to play given the personnel he has been presented with. At William and Mary, the Tribe had to go away from the classic Shaver in-your-face man-to-man style that he implemented at H-SC because of the lack of athletes. I think he and Dee did a pretty darn good job adapting!

Dee will not have the athletes that were abundant on Tiger rosters of the past (i.e. quick point guards and wings that could pressure 94-feet), but he will have some experience in key positions. I'm excited to see what he comes up with.

Congrats to Coach Vick!  Surely, Coach Vick has good taste.  He's sporting the RMC 'uniform', black suit, white shirt and yellow (lemon) tie.  Quite a nice look on the new coach.

What's up with the RMC guys being so nice ?

Was this your New Years resolution or have you guys gotten so use to beating HSC in basketball that you feel the need to be nice ????

QuoteNo doubt about the fact that Dee Vick is an exceptional recruiter.  As assistant coach at HSC from 1994 to 1999, he was involved in the recruiting of the entire 1999 DIII National Finalist team  of Garst, Hobbs, Robbins, Grimes, Harris, Jirak, and Fox, etc..  In 1998-99, he helped recruit Brooks, Gregory, and the other seniors that went on to play in the Final Four in 2003.  So it's understandable that, when Tony Shaver went to William and Mary, his first hire was Dee Vick.

Dee Vick also had something to do with a decent player by the name of Jeff Monroe coming to H-SC!

Just trying to brighten an otherwise depressing and miserable place.  Is that better?

Still like the 'look'.

Looks like VWC is getting a couple of quality kids that could contribute right away. I would also point out that both McDuffie and Meredith appear to be very good students.

Oldfish - And, I might add that Macedo is continuing the tradition of recruiting players who like the up tempo game. Add McDuffie and Meredith to the mix of seniors Terrell Dixon and Norman Hassell with junior Stephen Fields and you have another explosive offense. It's looking like another pretty good year for the Fish!

I can't find out who made this ridiculous post - "IMHO, Turner King was second only to Ben Strong as POY last year .... and is probably the best player that HSC has put on the court since Russell Turner". Anybody want to own up? Those of you that know me; know where I'm going with this.

Spoken like a true RMC fan !!!!!!

Can't have you guys feeling sorry for us ... we need to step it up and give you guys a little more competition than we have been lately !!! I have no idea what the record is between the two schools the past five years but I don't remember too many victories during that period.

However, TFA...I fondly remember that two of those victories have been VERY significant! The 29-point drubbing in the final game of the 2006-07 regular season that spurred the title run, and the 69-67 first round victory that essentially knocked Macon from postseason contention last year!! Be proud of those two triumphs!

Also there have been a few tight games during that stretch, so the rivalry has still been very entertaining!
