My nephew was recruited by Bill Leatherman in 2003-04 ... he and his staff made a couple of long trips to see him play ... I personally remember seeing him at a holiday tournament in Franklin, NC.  Even though he chose another school, my nephew always complimented Coach Leatherman on his professionalism and his straightforward answers.  I wish the Coach the best.  Peace.

does anybody have any info on D.J Billups departure from the team(why).

ODACHOOPS

I dont know what happend to Billups.  I do know that he was hands down Bridgewaters best pg and brought a completly differnt style of play (one that made them a much better team) then cecil and company (no disrespect to him).  I remember watching Bridgewater play Guilford in the 06-07 odac tourney and wondering who is this kid that wasn't on the team weeks before.  I think he was a major reason in bridgewater upsetting Guilford that year.  He was very quick and athletic, caused teams problems to say the least, huge loss for them.

N.C State wanted him to walk on what do u think or how do you think Jeff would have done.

Monroe could have gone to a Patriot League school in the Fall signing period  of his Senior year in high school.  I believe he wanted to wait and see what other offers would come in and who  else might get interested.  He also had Elon very hot on his heels.  NC State would have loved to have him walk-on, but I think Jeff wanted to be more of a contributor.  In fact, Jeff had a teammate (Will something) in high school who was a good athlete/player, but lesser than Jeff, who walked on for four years at NCSU.  Not sure if I think Jeff would have been a contributor at NCSU.  That is a huge jump.  He was a special player and person, but getting minutes in the ACC would have been very, very tough.

Hi guys, back from vacation.  Been hangin' with a buncha NESCAC alumni and fans.  Couldn't say anything without the ole clenched jaw, extended consonants, and condescending chuckle. . . Oldfish woulda loved it. ;D

On a more serious note, I'm sorry about Leatherman's departure.  A shame, actually.  I wish him nothing but the best.

Saw this earlier.  I think it's great Rhoades does this.  What an incredible trip for these guys, especially the exposure and education, not to mention basketball. 8)

And the possibility of snagging a recruit. Didn't Boris Varela, who is from Chile, come to R-MC a season after they made the previous Chile trip?

One would think.  The last trip was in 2005, I think, and Varela came to R-M soon after.

yes Boris came to RMC because of that trip, he was well known down there and Rhoades talked him into coming.  Ended up turning out pretty good.  Who knows now the opposite might happen, maybe a player is offered a contract? (Short maybe)?

Does anyone know where i can find the schedules of Lynchburg College and Randolph. They are not posted on their website yet....
You have zero chance of succeeding your goal if you do not try the goal first!

Wow! Dee Vick sure isn't wasting anytime in trying to find out just what his hsc team will be made of. Playing 6 of their first 7 games on the road will definitely test hsc early.  With the likes of Maryville, St. Mary's and Richard Stockton all 3 NCAA tourney teams last year, as well as teams like NC Wesleyan and Shenandoah who will be very quick and athletic, I see hsc being anywhere from  5-2 to 1-6 after their first 7 games, probably more towards the 4-3 range.  The schedule will only get tougher as they enter ODAC play.  Can't wait for Nov to get here!
