I think all parents (and uncles) live a bit vicariously through our children (and nieces and nephews), so steely "I understand!"  Congratulations again on your new granddaughter!

PS  Did I mention my son was an NC All-State wrestler at 171 pounds?  Or my nephew was MOP of the NCHSAA 2004 basketball title game?  By the way, my nephew has one more year of eligibility and starts at forward for DII Brevard.   :)

Steely/Nova - you old guys are funny! This stuff about living vicariously through your children is too much. I'm glad I don't have that problem  ;D

emufan

Maybe thats it. I don't have kids yet.  Maybe someday I will understand.

Can we all agree that Steely can stop calling his son, "a former ODAC POY?"  I mean come on steely, we know it's your son, we know he was great, we know you are proud, but after five years of bringing that up, it gets kinda old. From now on, you can say Kyle W. and we will still know exactly who you are talking about.

I agree. He should just call him "an ODAC POY." Unless Kyle had his POY status stripped by the league, he will always be a POY.

I really don't mind if Mr. Former NC State 1972 National Championship team member with David Thompson, Monte Towe, and Tom Burleson, et al., calls his son the former ODAC POY.   I am tired of having to kiss that national championship ring every time I see him.

Hey, if I had a ring I'd make everyone bow and kiss it!  And just for the record, it was 1974.  Right, steely?  :)

My mistake.  In 72, he won 7 gold medals in Munich.  Loved the mustache.

Gosh, he was versatile, wasn't he?  lol  Who was the former NCAA player who said (on TV) that he "made the shot with his left hand" because he was "amphibious"?  :)
