Although, I must admit, Moon Pies may be a bit before my time. I have never personally had one, but I fondly remember the sour look on my mother's face when my father tore into his favorite banana flavored moon pie!

Are HSC's two transfers "immediate-impact guys?, and as long as RMC continues to bring back size rather then speed in the ODAC, they will never be number one.

and now another VWC player on the board, welcome to the board Jonathan Reed.

Dare I say...bulletin board material for Coach Mike Rhoades????  :)

If this guy knew anything about the ODAC this year he would know that the last thing we all need to do is give those Jackets more motivation...they are already the most talented team in the conference!

But to answer the question posed, Mudd is without question an immediate impact player and Payne will most certainly be in the lineup, possibly the starting five since he is a true small forward, something the Tigers really are lacking.

wouldnt say tht statement was totally accurate either RMC's bigs seemed 2 me to be pretty athletic. Not as athletic as first team all odac Justibn Short but still athletic. I also really like jordan brown to be a firtst teamer before his carrer is done if not this year

osnapitsodac

o and of coarse Boris a senior is extremly athletic.

ODACHOOPS

HSC has dropped the likes of Richard-Stockton (2008 tourney team) and St. Mary's (2008 tourney team) and replaced them with the likes of Lancaster Bible and Maryland Bible (2 national powerhouses) hahaha.  I think someone got to Dee and or he finally came to it and realized that winning games, especially at a place like HSC is much more important than having an impressive schedule.  Especially in your first year with all the pressure and expectations to continue the tradition, I don't think scheduling "tough out of conference opponents" is the best way to assure wins in your first season, which ultimately equals happy alumni.  With those changes in the schedule for HSC I have to believe they will be just fine heading into conference play.

They might want to consider adding a  few high school teams then. You shouldn't have teams like these 2 on your schedule. God forbid you lose to one one of them.
If you make every game a life and death proposition, you're going to have problems. For one thing, you'll be dead a lot. Dean Smith

Wow,

How do you drop and add two games so close to the start of the season?  Do the "Bible" colleges have the same rules regarding number of games played in regular season?  Maybe they were able to drop the two difficult games knowing that LBC and MBC don't have regular season game restrictions.

Just a thought.

HS-C and VaWesleyan were scheduled to play in a Nov. tournament at LaGrange.  It seems that is not going to happen.  Anybody on the ODAC board know anything about this?  Maryville was to be the fourth team and it seemed like a great early season test for everybody.

ODACfan4life

I doubt that HSC and Va Wesleyan are playing each other in the LaGrange tournament.  My guess is that HSC will play Maryville and LaGrange, and that Va Wesleyan will also play Maryville and LaGrange.  That is how these tournaments involving two teams from the same conference are usually set up.   That will be two tough games for Maryville though.

DeWayneCarter

The tournament is going on as scheduled..... and VWC will be playing against LaGrange and Maryville.

The LaGrange Tourney is still on. Richard Stockton actually dropped H-SC, while H-SC dropped St. Mary's. Both situations dealt with the dreaded "return" game where a team must be willing, in most cases, to agree to a second game at the other location the next season. The bottom line is, it's tough getting games with the new ODAC schedule! That is why you see R-MC playing Richmond!

The Tigers tried to schedule Richmond, but you see which direction they chose instead (not smart by the Spiders in my opinion...I think R-MC could beat them). Sometimes you just have to get games where you can get them, and with only 23 games on the schedule at this point in the year, I'm sure they had to exhaust all options.

scottharris

I'm sure RMC won't mind playing Richmond at all when they get that nice little paycheck for it.

ODACHOOPS

I just think its funny when you look at the names of the schools they dropped and the names of the schools they replaced them with hahah... Don't get me wrong though, it was veryy smart for Dee to schedule "cup cakes" as appose to NCAA tourney teams in his first year.  The pressure from alumni, fans ect on Dee to wins games and win them quick will be tremendous, so it was a very smart decision to schedule 2 bibles schools to make sure the alumni are seeing W's in the win column.
The 2 most important things a coach can do to win games are: recruiting and scheduling.  The recruiting apparently is pretty solid for this up coming year and now he has shown he can schedule too.
