Well, Bennett IS a grad-student.
A 2004 graduate of the "almighty legendary" Ithaca College. Goooooo Bombers.

NescacHoopsFan,

I know that the Tufts team I saw the second game was the "real Tufts team." But does the "real Tufts team" shoot 61% for the first 40 minutes of most games? I didn't think so. "Ir"regardless, the Amherst team they played the second game, was not the real Amherst team.

Elduderino,

Hey can you relay a message to Dave Shepherd for me? He is 17-17 from the line at LeFrak this year in three games. It's time for him to put up some misses and come back down to earth (or at least the 80% FT shooter that he is).

DMan-Hunt was a good player. I thought he hustled all the time. I liked him but All American? I am not saying he wasn't named but I saw some lesser players make him look clumsy/inept on offense. That seemed to happen when he would try and do something on his own, instead of merely working himself free for his shot. (Nice Range) I never saw the same thing happen to Nogelo or Rhoten or Zieja, Tabb, etc.
Take away the first Amherst Tufts game and you have a bunch of overtime thrillers involving Trinity Tufts and Amherst. I do not see Amherst as being significantly more talented than Trinity or Tufts. I give Amherst the advantage over Tufts tomorrow, largely because the game will be at Lefrak.

You may be dooming them with talk like that.  You never know what reactionary junior executive from the NCAA may be patrolling these boards looking for violations... oh wait, it's d3... they don't care about us.  I forgot, sorry.  Carry on.

Jumbos over Amherst 92-89

Black hits a deep 3 to win it

Utica over Fisher 81-76

I don't care what HAS happend this year, it tourney Time and Utica Dominated a WPI team that everyone had ranked really high.

Any more tix left for the Tufts/Amherst game?

Unless Nick Bennett is pulling double duty... He's also listed as an assistant at his alma mater.. that's a heck of a commute from Upstate NY to Wisconsin every day. I hope he has one of those new gas hybrids

You do have to take into account the fact that Gerry McNamara has used up all the good favor the basketball gods have allocated for teams from Upstate New York the past two days.  There may not be any left to fuel a Utica victory.

If Fisher is as good as everyone seems to be implying they are, I think they can make a challenging opponent in the Elite 8, however, I still think its going to be Amherst.  Experience, talent and home court make for a tough combination to overcome.

Tufts sold all of the 330 tickets it was allotted to this game in a day. The atmosphere should be electric with a strong Jumbo contingent attempting to neutralize what should be a huge Amherst throng.

D3hoopsNet, under contract from NCAAsports.com, will be broadcasting the entire Amherst sectional. Coverage starts a half-hour before tipoff and includes a preview of all four sectionals, plus in-game "live look-ins" at other sectionals in progress.

Seth Cantor and Paul Schreel on the call.

For those of you without tickets tonight, you have three broadcast options over the internet:

The d3hoops guys are sending a crew to give objective broadcasts of both the 6:00PM St. John Fisher-Utica game and the 8:00PM Amherst-Tufts game.

http://www.jumbocast.com/ has audio and video for Jumbos fans.

WAMH has audio for Amherst fans at http://wamh.amherst.edu/  Plus, I promise we fixed our technical problem last week.  Knock on wood, we'll be on the air for the whole game this time!

Personally, I'm hoping for LeFrak to be so loud I lose my voice broadcasting tonight's game.

Sounds like a blast.  I wonder if I can get it to work on my dial-up at home (ha ha).

Our WAMH feed should work on dial-up.  We have it set to stream the sports (which doesn't have great sound quality anyway) at a fairly low level for off-campus users.

I'd be willing to bet the d3hoops one works too, but video...

fisheralum03

question to anyone at AMHERST, how much seating is there at  LeFrak Gym and do you think tomorrow's game might sell out if Fisher and Amherst win tonight. If yes, when would be a good time to get to the gym to find parking and get a ticket and how much do tickets cost??? Where is a good place to park close to the gym?? Obviously, i've never been to Amherst college before if you couldn't tell before this message.
