Rumored early line for Friday is Amherst -4.0. All bets off for now though.

That seems a tad bit too optimistic (from an Amherst fan's perspective), in my opinion.

From a Middlebury fans perspective, we will take a quadruple overtime game followed by a long bumpy bus ride to Middlebury for the Lord Jeffs.  A tired Amherst squad on Saturday will be much appreciated, thank you.  Seriously, good luck to everyone this weekend.  So much still up in the air at the top and and bottom of the league.

Midd fans should want a quadruple overtime game concluding in an Amherst win.

What a horrible thought!

So assuming Williams & Middlebury beat Trinity this weekend:

If Amherst sweeps, they win the NESCAC??
If Amherst beats Williams, loses to Mid, they go to a coin flip to decide #1 seed?? (each team would be 1-1 against each other undefeated vs. everyone else
If Amherst loses to Williams, beats Mid Williams wins the NESCAC
If Amherst gets swept Williams wins the NESCAC

Do I have all my scenerio's correct??

7express....your points lead to the seedlings only for the tournament.  The top seed gets to host the semi finals.    Winner of the "CAC" tournament is the conference champs and gets the auto-bid to the NCAA.

Hey guys, just thought you should know that Epley/Mayer and Thompson/Kizel tied for the dynamic duo poll on this page in case you were wondering.

nescac1

Haha.  I put the poll up but I see no way to replace and/or take it down, by the way.  One of many technical snafus of late ... no more notifications of posts / messages, trouble posting (it seems when I post I haven't, although I have), and so on.  I assume Pat et. al. are aware ...

What's the chance the snow will cancel/postpone the games on Fri/Sat?  Would they?  Could they?

Old Guy

Here's a nice three and a half minute highlight film of Peter Lynch which might interest those who haven't seen Midd in person. Ambidextrous, loves contact, always plays hard, never squawks. What's not to like?

"Major snow event" covering the region this Friday could play havoc with the schedule. Don't know if we benefit from getting the Jeffs before they play Williams or after. Talked to one of the players today, asking his preference, and he shrugged, "we don't care."

Can NESCAC teams play on Sunday??  If so, Friday games prolly pushed back to Sunday so instead of Williams Mid it'll be Mid Williams.  If its both days then who knows.  I'd have to assume Sunday-Monday or 1 game Sunday the other Tues, Wed or Thirs if they don't want to play back to back on a school day.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

I would venture to say considering the predictions... Sunday may be out as an option. If that much snow actually dumps on the area like I am seeing from some forecast models... there will be plenty of digging out, plenty of power outages, and plenty of other priorities than playing basketball on a Sunday.

Regional Rankings just released by the NCAA. They will probably be up on the D3 website shortly.

Northeast region rankings were the ones I posted on the Pool C board last night.

If the NESCAC can schedule its title game on Sunday, I would suspect that the schools are allowed to play regular-season games on that day too.

Don't schools already play some NESCAC regular season games on Sundays? Wasn't Williams at Hamilton on a Sunday?

Yah.  Seems like Hamilton plays a lot of Sunday games.  That was a stupid post on my part.

Sounds like the Amherst @ Williams game has been moved to Sunday.  Saw a tweet about it, hasn't hit the Williams site yet.
