Two quick things:

1) I am not a former Amherst basketball player and never played for Coach Hixon.
2) Yeah Pat, you're a bad journalist: creating a website dedicated to an underrepresented population that has been appreciated by tens of thousands of people since inception. And real journalists encourage creative and expansive thoughts from related parties...all you did was add a chat forum to your website enabling people to represent themselves and their schools in a (mostly) enjoyable way. Damnit! Ask coach Hixon why he told his team to box out!!!
You are right. Better to not ask. Even better, do the same yourself.  I see Madzillagd's point of view and will be sending an email to Coach Hixon. If/when he chooses to respond, I will post it here. Out of further respect to his point on timing, I will do so when the season is over. Good luck to the NESCAC teams in the big dance.

why even worry about it. unless you were the one that missed the foul shot? No one really cares there is a tournament to play. :D

It is suspected that Amherst will not discharge or otherwise publicly discipline Hixon, whether in the foreseeable future or beyond. What random commentors here or elsewhere believe about him bears no weight in a decision of any kind, which Amherst might make on that subject.

It has been a tough year for Amherst coaches of all stripes.  Especially soccer for both men and women and now this.

Anyone who cares about right from wrong should care, but enough has been said.  Ready for the games to get going.  Strange time of year when you start playing teams you know so little about after going up against teams you know everything about.

Maineman......where does your comment come from and for what purpose?  Off topic and has no place on this board and at this time!
As a Hall of Fame Poster has pointed out, poster's comments here and elsewhere will not impact any coaches employment, methods and wins or losses.
If posters are having a Bad Day......please stay off the board....do not drive....and carefully chop wood.

Amherst Women's Soccer went 13-2-2 and made the NCAA Tournament
Amherst Men's Soccer went 17-0-3, gave up three goals all season, won the NESCAC, and went to the Elite 8

Not the W/L, the deportment on the sidelines and that of their players.

Apologies to the forum for staying off topic.
The women's team had one senior who threw the ball in at a Colby girl's head and that video went viral (a yellow card offense). What happened with any men's players or with either of the coaches?

Walzy, much like Hixon, the men's soccer coach was discussed to death, and beyond, on the men's soccer board on this site.  I suggest folks interested in that topic read about it there, rather than rehashing it here, particularly when the NCAA tourney is imminent.

Oh okay. Thanks Nescac1...I didn't know that. I was a little lost.

Amped for the tournament. Will definitely miss the back-to-back format, but I think it will help all three NESCAC teams to have a week to prepare for opposition.

Middlebury played Curry on a neutral court in the '11-12 season.  Sedale Jones was 3-12 and 0-2 from three pt range.  Papalambros fared not much better, 2-6/1-2 in a Panther romp, 83-54.
Lynch was 6-6.
Nolan Thompson didn't suit up for the game.

Middlebury has the easiest region/draw in the tournament. Stop complaining. It would take an enormous upset or choke for Middlebury to not reach Salem.
Sit back and enjoy the games, sheesh.

Complaining?  I tried to make the point that it should be an easy win.  A couple of Middlebury fans are going to rag on me for this.  And you accuse me of complaining?  I must use poor grammar.

Wow!....hope we are back on track here.
There are some movements of the Top 25 D3hoops polls.  IMO, the "Big Dance" announcements have been made and any poll rankings are bragging rights dressing only at this time.  However, any thoughts on the polls are most welcome to fill in the "dead" time before Amherst's next game.
The Monday Hoopsville program proved interesting....Dave M.'s thoughts about who would be in the final 8 when asked by Pat C., Dave's question to Coach Hixon on Amherst's bye (Amherst had a bye last year and lost to F & M), and in particular,  Hixon's view on Aaron's play late in the season last year and of late.  First.....Dave M....Aaron is a Junior now....I know it was a long show and much on your mind :)
Dave hesitated about Amherst moving forward pass  WPI.   Hixon welcomed the extra time so that Willy and Aaron could recover.  Workman did not practice all week before the games last weekend!   In the game at F & M, Hixon mentioned that 2-3 players were in "Boots" before...I knew about one but 2-3?  Maybe he will change his practice/workouts this year.   On the question of his handling of Aaron when his pg seems to be pressing in games..., I thought Coach Hixon did a little dancing around the question....but recovered well.   Other listeners' thoughts?

Nescec1...your description of the "great wall of china" facing Williams' ahead seems a little bit....cannot find the right word here.  When Williams runs through their opponents...you will then have more reason to give the team high praise. ;D
Need to look at the opponents facing the Ephs and the Panthers.
Yes, I stirring the pot a little....but it is the right pot for this board, IMO.
