Old Guy....you are kidding wrt to next year!?   Only Green in the group you listed will be a senior.  TMac, Dawson will be sophs with the remaining players named will be juniors.   Only Levine will not return...to be replaced by a 6'10" recruit.
DGeorge was reported to have only 4 RBs.....the guards led by Johnny Mac who had 13 rebounds made up the difference.
In truth, I wanted the Bantams to win the first game.  I wanted Amherst to get a chance to redeem themselves against Trinity in Hartford...as they did against Tufts.  Had a feeling that Trinity was ready to be upset this weekend.

Next year, Dawson must be a junior for bball eligibility purposes. He played D1 last year, and played his 2nd year this year.

Wes guts out another road win. Not pretty for Wes or Trinity. The good news is that the Cards are learning different ways to win. Shots weren't dropping and the Bantam bigs made it tough inside. Wes kept attacking and the difference was 16/22 free throws for Wes vs 8/14 for Trinity. Big help from the bench. Kuo, Epps, and Edmonds were limited to 61 minutes total due to foul trouble. Tugman, Gallivan, and Reed combined for 44 minutes. They didn't do much in the stats department but they played excellent defense which allowed the Cards to beat the Bantams at their own game. As mentioned, it wasn't pretty, but that's how Trinity likes it-- and the Nescac in general had not cracked the Trinity system.

Tomorrow will be a different challenge altogether. Amherst has totally controlled the previous two meetings.  Despite the 6-4 record, when Amherst is on they are the best team in the league. They have been inconsistent and are beatable on an off day. Hopefully that day is tomorrow.

When does the selection committee release the bracket?

Brackets will be announced on Monday at 12:30 PM here's a link from D3hoops to watch the action as they will have a link to the NCAA show up on Monday. Click on the picture of the guy wearing the #21 Tigers jersey.

amh63,

Need your LJ's to win today so pull out all your lucky charms. Plattsburgh's still alive but a Wesleyan win will hurt since Amherst will take away another Pool C bid from those available and Wesleyan won't.

Vandy,

Call all the Amherst alumni in your family and get them working their mojo as well. I'm calling in all my markers today to get the help I need. :D

I knew you'd get someone hook, line and sinker with that one. Well done.

It's snowing again in the D.C. Area this morning.  Some thoughts/reflections about the games I watched last night.  First...I took the  humor bait of Old Guy....did not think he had that wit wrt to BB.  Bad read on my part.
Enjoyed the Cardinals student fans antics. They brought in signs too.  Tend to forget the rivalry level between Trinity and Wesleyan...in state too.  Guess I get caught up too much with the Little Three thing these days.  On the big screen, caught some other smiley things....the young kids that crossed the floor to congrats their father....the HBC of The Cardinals.  Happy family scene!
After the Amherst game, saw a happy Amherst assistant coach chat and hug Dawson as they crossed the floor.  Expectation and hard work starting to come together is my read of the picture.
Yes, I did recognize the broadcast announcer..via his voice...as the one that does the Middlebury game...pointed it out to my wife.
As I watched the games in the Trinity gym, I thought about the first time I was there to catch a CAC tourny game Live!  Remember it was an Amherst vs Trinity game.  Remember more the trouble finding a parking space near by.
People have been posting about the competative nature of this season.  Seems that other top seeds in other conferences also got upset.  Keene State won the LEC automatic bid...and Plattsburgh lost out for a title.   Springfield plays Babson today for the NEWMAC auto bid to the post season.
GoWes....nice perceptive post!  Plus K  It is always hard to beat a strong team Three times in a season.  Both teams will only have a short trip for the matchup.  Expect a good game at High Noon.

And we're going to overtime in Hartford!  Amherst has struggled big-time from deep (5/24) but has stayed with the Cardinal thanks to the incredibly efficient scoring of Conklin and Nabatoff (a combined 14-14 from the field for 31 points).

AmherstStudent05

Congratulations to Wesleyan.  We played hard, but they were just the better team today.

I think we should be solid for a Pool C selection, but we have to sweat it out now.

Conklin, Dawson, and Nabo were excellent for us today. Mackey hit an insane 3 in OT to give the Cardinals a lead that they would not relinquish.

CatCountry2013

Congrats to the Cardinals! What a season! And not only for Wesleyan but for the NESCAC as a whole.

P'bearfan

Wow a stunner in Hartford.  Congratulations to the Cardinals on winning the NESAC championship.

The way Amherst played yesterday against Bowdoin I truly thought they would win this one walking away.  However Wesleyan winning as a #6 seed is a fitting ending to a crazy NESCAC season.

old_hooper

Congrats to Joe Reilly and his Cards!  They were the team that played like champs at the end of the season and deserve it.  Amherst, live by the three, die by the three.  Horrible shot selection at the end of regulation.  A young team that will get better and make better decisions in close games.

AmherstStudent05

With the season done, here are my final all conference picks.

1st team: Hausman, Wohl, Green, Starks, Palleschi

2nd team: Safford, Boornazian, Swords, HRL, Davis

PoY: Hausman

DPoY: Palleschi (but honestly have no great basis for any pick here)

RoY: McCarthy

CoY: Reilly

6th Man: Tarik Smith

I would love to get more love for the NESCAC Champions, but I just don't see how given how balanced they are.

TrinColl1

Congrats to the new NESCAC Champs. Played a great 3 games. A thing about the last post. Cosgrove has to be Coach of the Year. Take the whole season not getting hot at the right time like Riley's teams did. Trinity was picked 5th to start the year. Finish 9-1. Would be surprised if it wasn't him.

Who gets in the NCAA Tourney from the NESCAC in everyones opinion? Everyone wants Babson to win right now too. Peoples thoughts?
