You want the first game when on the road and have to turn around and play the next night--- which Amherst will!  You get to see your opponent live rather than tape and get a little bit of extra rest.

Dave 'd-mac' McHugh

Per the interviews being taped... this is Division III and sometimes there simply isn't any media present... so why even tape them in the first place? Nothing like answering questions to no one or to an SID for no reason.

Some more schools and hosts are starting to tape the post-game pressers, but it is a bit of a new thing. They have short shelf lives and again if there isn't any media at a game (I was one of several on Friday night at one place; and the only one at a site on Saturday night), they aren't going to drag coaches and players out to get in front of a camera for the heck of it.

It is a nice touch, but it is a little more laid back in Division III and thus not always something that can be done.

Per injuries... yes, Flannery is hurt and did not play on Saturday after spending the previous, nearly, 24 hours in a walking boot. He thought he would play... apparently others felt differently. Nothing against Babson, but if Flannery is not 100% I am not sure they can beat Amherst. I suspect Amherst will be a tougher match-up than Susquehanna and that will expose Babson without Flannery. If he is available and 100%, than I really don't know anyone on Amherst's squad who can stop him.

I was the only media at Stockton for Keene State and Middlebury on Friday. I didn't go Saturday, which means that was the shortest press conference in history. :)

Any news on Vincent Pace from Tufts? I was hoping that question would come up on Hoopsville Sunday night, during the interview with Coach Sheldon.

Not that this carries any weight whatsoever but thought it was pretty cool recognition: Amherst was picked the best men's hoops program in Massachusetts across divisions, and ranked 7th nationally according to this website that explains its metric http://herosports.com/news/best-college-basketball-team-in-every-state-regardless-of-division#22

Midd carries Vermont, as well.

This is a pretty cool.  Congrats to Amherst - 7th nationally is pretty impressive.  I was also interested to see Husson picked as the top program in Maine.  Bowdoin doesn't play Husson every year (lost to the Eagles this year and last).  Would have like to have matched up with them 3 seasons ago - that would have been a great game.

Amherst does not want to see them again after its game in LeFrak for awhile :).

And at the risk of being accused of "Amherst arrogance", the Jeffs are also ranked the top Division 3 team in America by these standards!

with age came?

Hope Pace can play...have limited exposure to NESCAC games but I thought he was the best player I saw this year on the given day that I had the privilege...he had a very complete game - not just scoring which I feel sometimes gets too much attention.

Boy the Nescac is getting some "press" coverage lately.
There is an feature article on Tufts men's team chemistry on D3hoops.com
It seems that Amherst's Coach Hixon is going to be on Hoopsville tonight!
May miss it :).  Checking out the ACC men's Tourny game in D.C.
Interesting bit of info....to me...the men's NCAA dictated charge to attend games is more expensive than the WBB games.  Top cost for men's game is 10 bucks and is 7 bucks for the women's game.  Senior citizens, kids above 2 years, and students with ID are the same.....at least at LeFrak.

It is hard work just to get into the NCAA tournament in the first place. It is even harder to get out of the second two rounds. But which eight teams of the 32 left can get the job done and march on to the championship weekends?

Thursday night on Hoopsville, Dave McHugh chats with some of those who have already surprised and those who hope to keep their tournament dreams reality.

Pace is out for the season with a torn ACL, here's a story from the Boston Globe:
