A nice post from "Old Guy." Glad to see a Midd fan posting...I was at Midd for last year's CC one point win and I loved the atmosphere in their new gym (that was on a hockey night). formerbant-I was disappointed to see you picking Wes over CC. Do you need to be reminded that CC played in the NESCAC playoffs last year and they didn't graduate anyone?

Conn had a bad loss last night to Johnson and Wales, but Jeff Young did play 20+ minutes and it is clear that they are prepping him for league play after he missed the first semester.

Josh Loeffler is also a former Hamilton assistant....glad to see Formerbant rooting for the Tobin Anderson-led Continentals...former CC guard Zarrette Rogers is a senior starter for Hamilton.

Rogers is hurt, didn't play last night.  But with him in, the Conts will be a better team.

I picked Wes because of Kelly and Ashe.  I haven't seen either team play this year and most likely won't....but those two have always been tough.  But kudos to the camels if they prove me wrong.

I saw SUNY-Farmingdale beat SUNY-Maritime last night and I now see why Farmingdale made the NCAA second round and lost by 10 to Virginia Wesleyan...they are BIG and balanced with lightening guards and great shooting. Damien Santana is a soph guard out of Brooklyn's Grady HS, he shot 7-9 from 3pt and scored 27 without sweating. Farmingdale is the #1 team in the Sklyline, Stevens (who beat Tufts) is probably the 3rd best team in that league (Manhattanville 2nd). There is greater paridy in Div-III than we NESCACers give credit.

One more note: Farmingdale has a Quincy Douby lookalike who threw down a mean "Harold Minor" on a breakaway.

CCsalive

sorry...parody(sp!)

formerbant10

Was Douby's look alike the kid from Grady, where Douby went?

parity...but I agree that basketball outside of the NESCAC is a parody.

I am a long time guest & finally decided to step up . I have been
following NESCAC hoops for a few years now & I think there was be
a couple of upsets this weekend . I think Amherst with all of you fans
out there will taste defeat this weekend .
I also think with some schools having a very easy schedule to this point
including the almighty Amherst  will face some stiff competition .
I GUESS THATS WHY THEY PLAY THE GAMES

hoopjunks...dont jump

nescachoops, would you be able to make the caltech team?

YoungSnukes...you are a legend

I wasn't an English major and maybe this why Hamilton had to depart NESCAC!

No, the Douby lookalike was not the Grady kid who threw down the Harold Minor (never saw it coming, off two-feet, touched his feet with the ball, REVERSE two hand flush!)

CCsalive

I'm driving myself mad...the Douby lookalike threw down the dunk. The Grady HS grad is their best player and you can get a good look at a t-bone steak by sticking your head up a cow's a$$

ballin,

fourth picture down, third in from the right on the bench (don't comment on the hair, it was the 90's and i was a freshman). i only played my freshman year and didn't get in a whole lot, but it was a cool experience nonetheless to go to the final four and play behind and guard mike nogelo everyday in practice. for all you youngsters, nogelo was national player of the year two times and the BEST player ever out of new england for d3. he comes back to the alumni games and is still BY FAR the best player on the court - better than crotty, coffin, abba, anybody. sheehy was also a genius in comparison to paulsen as far as coaching goes. even though tennis isn't the sport that basketball is, i was a much better tennis player and didn't want to play 3 seasons worth of sports at college. to answer your question, yeah i could make the cal tech team.

ill take the jeffs by 6 on saturday. 70-64...i can't predict like walzy but ill try my best. i think ray will disrupt the amherst offense a little by disrupting olson, hence the relatively low score but i still like the jeff's chances. my ephs will beat bowdoin on friday but lose to colby the next - they have no answers for a dominant big man.

what happened to thunder? i want to know what's up with tufts?

That's not saying much -- I could make the Caltech team. If I could have added another 300 points to my GPA. :)

I just recently learned that neighboring Hampshire College has a varisty basketball team.  I know Caltech is bad and all, but do you think they could handle Hampshire?   :)
