Can anyone give me an idea of what type of a player Thompson from Middlebury is? 35 on 11-14 shooting in a big game? Huge line.

Who was at the Midd game tonight?  Why did Jake Weitzen only play nine minutes?  What happened there?

I'm freaking out here...

La Verdad,

Thank you for your summary. I wish I could have seen the game, at least the first 15 minutes! When I was at Hamilton, they were recruiting K-Hop and probably would have gotten him had Tom Murphy not been ousted. Happy to see him getting deserved PT.

As for the Camels I would simply say they got run over in a Friday night road game at the #1 team in the nation. In hoping for a split this weekend, which game do you guys think I had my hopes on?

Congrats to Midd...Can't wait to hear from Old Guy!
Will the Panthers sweep?

Read what CC said about Adolphe before thinking that my comments were not completely valid and actually restrained.  Show the slightest bit of decency...

That being said, the game tonight was a clinic and an Amherst team that was clicking on all cylinders.

FOURTY-TWOOOOO

Old Guy

I'm in northern California (Dillon Beach, 20 miles east of Petaluma) visiting in-laws (I'm a geezer with small children), wishing I were back in Vermont freezing but happy about an exciting win over the Jumbos. The gym was empty. Middlebury is on break after winter term before spring semester. I'm no help.

Thompson is a slender 6'6" forward (3, 4), quick and athletic. He's streaky:  19 points against Amherst, one the next day vs Trinity. He only took four three-point shots all of last year, was not a shooter, but this year he is shooting and connecting from the perimeter (16-31 from 3) and from the line (80%+, 12-13 last night). This was clearly a career game. He's one of two seniors on the team.

Middlebury may be a tough match-up for Tufts. I haven't seen enough of Tufts to speak authoritatively (haven't seen them at all this year). Middlebury is quick and likes to run and takes the first good shot it gets. If Weitzen didn't get hurt, it may be that the pace of the game was not to his strength. Thompson plays the same position, right?

Interesting game this afternoon - Panthers against the enigmatic Bobcats. I grew up in Lewiston, went to Lewiston High, and root for the Bobcats under normal circumstances - not today. Crazy year in NESCAC hoops.

Has been would insinuate that I'm no longer playing.  But to each their own Heronimo

Has-been wasn't directed toward you.  It was directed toward the mammoth from Planet Lovetron himself, Darryl Dawkins.

You played basketball?

Gotta go.  Having contractions.

How you gonna go after CT like that?  That's just wrong.

Spengler-Nice Back to the Future reference...did I strike a nerve with you?

Gracious you 'Herst fans are not. I'm a huge fan of Adolphe's game...I asked if he would play and got no response(I am unaware of what his injury is). He didn't play for Coach Miller at Brown and I took an opportunity to remind folks of CC's basketball success in the late 90's under Miller.

Please, you are too smart and witty to restrain your prose. Perhaps you realized that being undefeated and #1 in the land speaks volumes on its own?

It was easier for Williams to be gracious in their day...everyone likes and secretly envies them. As for you guys? I hope the whole team gets the flu.

CC: Adolphe has left the team for personal reasons.

WeezyFBaby

Middlebury has four seniors: Hyatt, Dowd, Marcoux, and Thompson.

Big game today for Midd. It's Senior Day. Too bad nobody will be on campus to honor them. If Midd can beat Bates, they are back in serious contention for a home playoff game. And another loss for Bates might break them.

All-conference consideration for Thompson? 35 vs. Tufts, 19 at Amherst, 24 vs. Colby. 14 ppg on a top 5 (right now) NESCAC team. Middlebury should have a representative on the all-conference teams. Will it be Thompson? Rudin? Harris? Any thoughts?
drink a lot of syrup so people say im sleep walkin/
big money for the grill so im never cheap talkin

I doubt that 1 point performance against Trinity will help his cause.  Too many other consistent players in front of him on the All NESCAC list.

CC, I think the silence was due to the fact that none of us are really sure when Adolphe will be back on the court. He wont even be back on campus till Feb 8, but I have no idea if he will play immidiately. He has missed so much of the year he might petition for another year of eligibility.

formerbant10

Extra years are pretty tough to come by.  I'm pretty sure that one needs a medical waiver to regain another year of eligibility in DIII.

Which is too bad for Adolphe, always heard he was a great kid.  How's his artwork been?

Nice BTTF reference, but Hopkins?  Seriously, Hopkins?

I'd say next year is a race between Olson, Weitzen, Stone, Martin, Shalvoy, O'Keefe, Rose, Wholey, Black, Hippert, Pelletier and Taylor.  And MAYBE Hopkins.

In two years, Bausko is a pretty good choice.  I'd say him, Pierce or one of the Midd guys.
