JeffRookie is right. It is absurdly early for all this.

Yeah, you still have a team playing.  I mean if this were the CCIW Chat or the WIAC Board, then you might be justified talking about next year, but not here in NESCAC MBB.

BooBallsCasRay

just wanted to check in with trinity, williams and everyone else in the NESCAC to see how golf season is shaping up.

NESCAC plays their golf season in the fall.

And the Lord Jeff linksmen, with their popped collars and stain-guarded slacks, finished sixth...

BooBallsCasRay

i was referring to golf season for the bball players and fans, FECES MONKEY...

and how do you expect the jeffs to compete after losing golfing legends keith zalaski and david litt? i would compare this to the bulls losing MJ or the Patriots losing Eugene Chung.

Hey amherst fans, whats your opinion on this years amherst team versus last years, which team do you think is better?

Ryan Scott (Hoops Fan)

I'm not an Amherst fan, but I've been saying all along that last year's team was better.  The only thing is that this year's team is better when compared to other teams this year.

In other words, this year's squad has a better shot at winning the title than last year's squad, but I don't think that automatically makes them the better team.

I've been saying all along that I think this year's team is better defensively, but not as strong in the half court. Watching the last few weeks though, I've become a little worried about the Amherst defense. On the whole, I would say that last year's team was a little better.

An Amherst Sectional board was created in the Multi Regional Topics for discussions on this weekends six sixteen games.

I would like to know the opinion of fans familiar with Maine basketball (Bowdoin, Bates , Colby) with repect to the strengths and weaknesses of those teams next year, and any news regarding any incoming fabulous freshmen.

La Verdad

the quality of basketball in the state of Maine has really dipped in the past few years mostly due to the graduation of Jamie Snyder-Fair, a incredibly gifted center who dominated the NESCAC in his time.

Bates and Colby are getting decimated by graduation.  I heard they might not even field teams next year.

Just to add a bit to nescac1's accurate scouting report on trinity-

next year will be a struggle as far as backcourt scoring and depth goes, but i think that R. Martin, Rob Taylor and hasuik, all of whom are seasoned vets will keep trinity at the top half of the nescac, but what will push them over the edge is what else they can get.  If they can get some consistant scoring out of westbrooks and rowe coupled with some decent bench play (which has very limited experience outside of S. dunn) they could challenge for the top spot.  It'll be interesting to see who they bring in...they need shooters bad.

There are no golf courses in Hartford.

I heard (not confirmed) that Chris Hurley, a 5'7 point guard from BC High is going to Bates.  No idea how good he can be in college, in light of his size.  But Bates has the most entertaining recruiting class so far -- a 6'11 center (Foster I think his name was) who someone posted about a few months back (can't imagine he has many skills otherwise he'd be getting higher-level looks, but maybe he'll develop) and a 5'7 guard.

Has anyone seen Matt Gavin from Regis high school in NYC play ?
He is going to Tufts next year .
