so who does Tufts open against???

Agent_Zero

sorry, I cant exactly remember. I was discussing it with one of the Tufts players earlier this week and he told me the two other teams but I only remember one. He mentioned Bridgewater St. and one other team but I cant recall. so Tufts will open with BS and a team to be named later

Pat Martin was a senior last year . Russ Martin will be back .

Nescac 1 great post . No doubt Amherst will be #1 . I do believe
Williams can be in the top 10 . Brandeis who was very good last year
still has Steve Deluca who is one of the very best at power forward .
Tufts opening tourney is at Brandeis so that will be an intersting matchup,
if the Jumbos make it to the championship game .

Does anyone know the other 2 schools in the opening Brandeis tourney?

I didnt get confused between russ and pat. trinity's athletics page says that pat was a junior last year. also, he transferred as a sophomore the same year coulibaly did, as i recall, so it doenst quite make sense that he is graduating. can anyone clarify this for me?

Pat Martin's SENIOR night was against Amherst, which was also the Jeffs first loss of the season,. If I remember correctly, I think it was Pat Martin who hit the shot at the buzzer to beat the Jeffs. Pretty shocked that an Amherst fan would not remember this.

Pat Coleman

I seem to remember his SENIOR night being an afternoon game. :)

Welcome aboard, however. :)

i remember the game, just not that it was his senior night. apparently the trinity sid didnt remember either. i do recall the jeffs going on to win the national championship (something the uaa has never accomplished) while the bantams lost in the 1st round of the tournament. did you forget about that?

The "night" refers to it being the night for the seniors, not the time of day. Maybe we can remember that infamous day as the great senior "afternoon"  ???. Thanks for the welcome though Pat.

Jeff Rookie,

I remember the Jeffs winning the national championship, and the Bantams falling in the first round. I'm not a Bantams fan, but thanks for the history lesson.

Nah. People call it Senior Day for day games.

"In the first half, Trinity jumped out to a 14-6 lead on the first of Clarke's four treys in front of an enthusiastic Senior Day crowd of over 1,800 fans. Amherst calmly chipped at the lead and went ahead, 20-19, on a jumper by senior captain forward Dan Wheeler (Bloomington, Minn.). "

Pat Martin transferred after his sophomore year.  He played in a handful of games at BU during that year...just enough to use up a year of eligibility.  I believe that D3 only gives extra years for medical hardships, so he entered Trinity with 2 years under his belt.  Coulibaly I thought transferred after his freshman year, therefore only had 1 year of playing leaving him with 3 left after the move....if my math is correct.

Regarding the MIT player transferring to Williams - the player was/is Jimmy Bartolotta.  He is the best player on his team (by far) and is probably the best player in his conference.  He is a very dedicated player who works extremely hard on his game.  He briefly considered transferring to Williams in order to play on a better team that might have an opportunity to advance deep into the NCAA tournament.

Bartolotta and Kevin Snyder (Williams guard) were high school teammates, and as seniors their team won a state championship.  They remain close friends so Jimmy knows quite a bit about Williams and the basketball program.  From what I understand, he has decided to stay at MIT.  He was tempted by the opportunity at Williams but feels that he has too much invested at MIT to leave at this point.

That's good news for MIT and that's too bad for Williams - the addition of Bartolotta would have been a huge benefit for them.  He can really play.

Formerbant is right, Adolphe only spent one year at Brown.  I just wasn't 100% sure on Pat as to when he transferred.

Thanks for the info, wildwest.

What's up at Weslyan? They're looking for an interim Head Men's Basketball coach. Anyone see this coming?
