Daoustian,

In doing a quick look through of the Colby website I ran across this from the 00-01 season:
"The Colby White Mules could simply not match up with Amherst as the Lord Jeffs played suffocating defense limiting Colby to only 48 shots on the afternoon on their way to a convincing 66-49 win. The Lord Jeffs were led by Stephen Zieja with 18 points and Brian Daoust who penetrated the Colby defense for 15."

#5341
amherst led by 10 at the half against colby, but the mules have stormed back to make a game of it, 51-50 Jeffs with 9:30 to go. Gaudet has 21.

Amherst ends up winning 72-66. They led by as many as 16 in the first half, then free-falled all the way until they were trailing by 1, then picked it up for the last few minutes to secure a victory. This is becoming a little bit of a trend for amherst and you would love to see them start playing the full 40 minutes. Baskauskas had 18, Walters had 12 and 10 and Olson had 10 points and 8 assists. Gaudet finished with 24 points on 7-11 shooting, including 5-7 from behind the arc. Colby shot 60% from long distance on the evening. (6-10)

Denton

Bowdoin 40
Trin 36

10.56 in the 2nd

Denton

Bowdoin trinity to overtime

Hippert sinks 3 on 2nd try to tie with 8 second left

eclinchy

Conn opens on a 10-0 run and holds on to beat Tufts on the road.  Final score was 83-76 if I recall correctly.  Jumbos are now 0-4 in the league.  Stone was a beast tonight.

JeffRookie2

Brandeis is involved in a close one against UAA bottom-dweller case western reserve. judges lead by 3 at the half

JeffRookie2

any result from the Bowdoin/Trinity game?

Denton

Well bowdoin rolled over trinity by 5 in the 2nd OT.   Seesaw at the end.   Mike howser sink a 3 to drive it to 2 points.   Then lots of hammering in side.  Martin fouled out at the end of regulation.  Very stong game by all the polar bear starters.

eclinchy

It's official... Bowdoin's for real.

Should be a hell of a game at LeFrak tomorrow night... Bowdoin's 4-1, and Amherst is 5-0 after surviving a Colby scare and winning 72-66.

JeffRookie2

If you assume that amherst will go 2-0 against conn/wes, than tomorrow is a chance to lock up the NESCAC championship. Should be plenty of motivation for the Jeffs, they dont have to go to maine at all in conference this year, you would hate to spoil that by letting bowdoin host.

First off...echlinchy...No, currently I do not go to bowdoin as you asked me...but I do plan to go there in the mere future...I am very familiar with the team and its players..
Bowdoin over Trinity 67-62 in Double OT...both teams played pretty well...but Bowdoin is clearly the better team...Trinity's slight height advantage as well as their athleticsm kept them in the game...but in the end after alot of lead changes and ups and downs for both teams...the Polar Bears, yes the Bowdoin MENS basketball team, not womens, is off to a program best 16-3 start and alone in 2nd place in the NESCAC...heading to Amherst tomorrow afternoon to battle for 1st place in the league and possibly a #1 seed in the NESCAC...as well as at least a top 15 ranking come next weeks top 25
Walzy31...You sure you want to keep that spread for tomorrows game vs Amherst...you were off by 11, since you and everyone else underestimated Bowdoin
Id say Bowdoin might have the strongest senior class in all the NESCAC with Andrew Hippert, Jordan Fleigal and Andrew Sargeantson...all at least 3 year starters...all candidates for All conference come the end of the year...Just tonight..Hippert hit the game tying, step back fadeaway 3, Sargeantson had 18 rebounds against a very athletic Trinity team, and Fleigal had a solid 12 pt, 5 rbd performance, a little below his averages for the season
As for tomorrows game, I might be the only poster that thinks Bowdoin will win, but if Amherst underestimates the Bears, they will control the game as they did for much of the game tonight, and could slip away with a victory.  Should be a good one.

even with a win over amherst, i doubt bowdoin is in the top 15 next week. i think you underestimate the inertia of teams in the d3hoops.com poll.

They will get the chance to prove it tomorow. It is tough the knockout the champs. If they are what you think, Bowdoin should win.

I told you so. Hope you didn't get burned betting on your spread in Amherst v Colby. Colby was within 4 with 1:05 to go and led by one with 8 minutes to go. And you didn't even shave off a point after I clued you in.

i dont bet the games. i set the lines. but you had the inside track on this one. nicely done. gaudet is a good player, doesnt appear to be threatening or have a killer instinct, but he uses that to his advantage and  if you leave him open he will nail the three or 18 footer.

congrats on the big win tonight.

three things:
1)yes, the line has changed in the amherst bowdoin game.
Amherst -8  O/U 131.5

2) amherst needs to wake up.

3) you cant be really serious about Sargeantson, Fliegel and Hippert being better than Olson, Hopkins, Walters, Goldsmith and Jones.
