From what I understand, the small, not overly quick a la Steve Nash guards are a dime a dozen in Europe.

That could be trouble for Andrew, but I would assume somebody would give him a chance given his impressive body of work.  That being said, he certainly could improve his strength and quickness.  If he isn't in the gym working on his game already, I bet he will be soon.  ;D

He's got a pretty solid resume, I think he could find a job if he wanted to.

Does anyone know if any non-Amherst NESCAC players are trying to play post-collegiately?

Heard that Waller is confirmed attending Amherst, as well as ANOTHER D-I caliber big man from the Washington D.C. area, so it looks like they are doing their usual job reloading in the front court.  Amherst will be less experienced but still very dangerous next year.

What's the latest on Williams' recruits??  I'm aware of Emerson, the big man from Mass, and the point guard from San Fran.  Any other news??  Is the San Fran point guard capable of stepping in as a freshman and starting??

The only other recruit I've heard of for the Ephs is Jordan Mickens, a swingman who probably won't play until he is an upperclassman.  As for Wells, it is pretty tough for a point to be effective as a frosh (although Olson and Crotty certainly did it, then again, we're talking first team all americans) so who knows, but he was all-city in San Francisco:

so he must be pretty legit.  I would guess he'll be given the opportunity to win the job, but Paulsen might decide to go with a more experienced guy like Golia.

Seems like there are a lot of strong recruits this year in NESCAC, which is badly needed to replace the huge talent drain from the senior class.  Amherst is bringing in a slew of low D-I caliber front court guys (at least three), some of whom will probably have to play right away.  Bates and especially Bowdoin are also bringing in strong recruiting classes it sounds like ...

heard nothing on Trinity and Tufts, although I would think both would be bringing in a lot of guys in light of huge senior losses.

Yes -- we ran a story on that a few days ago on all four of our sites when it came out.

With a much shorter link, mind you. :)

9-foot rims, a cutback to 8-man rosters to limit the effects of athletics on academics and a gift basket for each incoming freshman.
#3 for 3...good!

College acceptance letters have gone out. Any news on recruits who may have been hoping to play at a higher level who have fallen into the laps of NESCAC teams??
