I'm through posting until the season starts. Thanks for taking the fun right out of this. My post was sarcastic, enthusiastic, self-deprecating and hyperbole...like all of my posts. I certainly did not invite you to tell me about fletcher Walters' father's resume. Seriously, you're an idiot.
Do you have a single thought on Bernier or Porter?
Do you really need me to admit that Amherst dominates CC on a
Yearly basis?
I cannot put into words how pathetic your post was you front-running towel boy.

CCsalive,
How about we make that "I'm through posting on D3hoops.com forever." and save everybody the time and day.  You are completely out of your element right now that nobody in their right mind has any idea what you are talking about!

You claim, "I actually am enough of an athlete, or ex-athlete, to have played enough games in my day where I don't need to yell and scream at other fans."  I don't know how old you are (I'm sure you're somewhere in your 30s) but I can guarantee that Mr. Walters who is somewhere in his 50's could take you in Basketball, Baseball, Football, and just about any other sport based on your sheer lack of sports intelligence and of course the fact that Mr. Walters was a stud athlete back in his day.  Not to mention, the "front-running towel boy" that you "yell[ed] and scream[ed] at" in one way or another, knows Basketball like the back of his hand and he is "enough of an athlete" to recognize a fool when he sees one.

I'd wager that he's a better ball player than you too but don't worry I won't give you his resume.

Yours truly,
-Bank Shot Charlie

CCsalive

Bank Shot,
I'm a little hurt, but I'll presume you were drunk when you posted. Let me lay a few things down for you in very clear words:
1) I am a 31-year-old adult
2) I am not compelled to compare my athletic skills, with strangers, via the internet; nor am I someone who yells at other fans.
3) I mentioned being an ex-athlete to underscore the fact that "I've had my fill." For all you know, I could be talking about college athletics, Little League, Mens League, Beer League...it doesn't matter. I don't yell at other fans and I think those that do need to compete more (or should have competed more) in said "leagues."
4) Did I insult Mr. Walters?
5) Everybody loves Cinderella. When I wrote my initial post and mentioned "Middlebury kicking Amherst's ass" it was meant to stir fond memories of NESCAC 08-09 when we had a new champion. Instead, my post prompted a nauseating "if this then that" post from amh63 about how things would have been different "if this then that." What you need to know is that this is the stuff that makes people HATE Amherst. NESCAC 2009 is entirely THE YEAR OF MIDDLEBURY.
6) When I write things like "front-running towel boy," it is an attempt to sling an insult that is funny AND rated-PG. I actually felt terrible calling someone an idiot and I will refrain from doing so in the future.

I'll stop here...for now...but for one thing. DO NOT question my sports intelligence you pimple-faced, bench-warming, water-getting, chicken-choking, dust mop of an Amherst fan. I hope you close your eyes tonight and dream sweet dreams about losing to Williams.

I apologize to the rest of you for having to read this.

CCsalive,

+k for the early front-runner for 'classy put-down of the year'! ;D

Ypsi! What a pleasant surprise, we can finally agree on something!

I also appreciated the fact that CC defended himself by actually talking about himself.  Bankshots entire argument was confusingly all about the laurels of the 50 something Mr. Walters.  Although I am sure Mr. Walters is a great guy and a hell of an athlete, I am not sure how it helps bankshot in showing that he knows what he is talking about and CC "is completely out of his element."  This either means:  a)  he is out of his element because he doesnt know what he is talking about (he has a strong opinion, so I think he has a right to share, regardless of his athletic background), or b) he is out of his element because he is not propogating the "Ra-Ra" Amherst sentiment on this board (this seems more likely to me).  As a relatively young ex-d3 player myself, I found all of CCs comments quite clear.

CC, keep doing your thing.  It is nice to have someone break up the Amherst love fest on this board!

Mr. Ypsi

Aw, c'mon hugenerd.  We've agreed on things before.  I just have no clue what they were! :D

(Note to others - inside joke.  We've been bantering about UAA vs. CCIW primacy on another board.)

THIS SEASON has just started practices!  We'll agree on something!

How about: I bet WashU could beat Caltech?! ;D

Hugenerd

Sorry, cant say anything bad about Caltech.  I know their head coach.  So I cant officially agree with you there.  I will take WashU over Wheaton, though. ;)  (IL, of course).

Did anyone else notice that the original post that CCsalive responded to was actually referring to David Waller's father, not Mr. Walters.  I think it's misunderstandings like these that had us looking for WMD in Iraq.  Mr. Walters is a kick-ass guy, however, don't get me wrong.

CC and BankShot--never change!  We need the energy.  And Kudos to Midd; as an Amherst fan I fully acknowledge the great 08-09 they had.

Titan Q

For help with my D3hoops.com Preseason Top 25 ballot, can you guys help me sort out the 2010 NESCAC race?  Who do you see finishing, say, 1st through 3rd?

Thanks for the help!

nescac1

I am a Williams guy so I am a LITTLE biased, but I think Williams will be the top team in the conference this year and a legit top-20 team.  Amherst is right there with them, they are the two co-favorites.  Middlebury, last year's top team, lost a ton (top three scorers including the top player in the conference) but should have the best defense in the conference and have a ton of size up front, they are maybe a borderline top 25 team.  Bowdoin, Colby, and Trinity are probably the next three in some order.  Bates, Conn, Tufts and Wesleyan all have all or most of their key players back, and Wesleyan adds an awesome frosh class, but they all have a lot of ground to make up on the rest of the conference.  I think this may be a year in which every NESCAC team finishes at or above .500 overall.

BornBalla

When is the Top25 Poll out?Did Middlebury reload like that? They can lose "top 3 Scorers including top player in conference" and be a borderline Top25 team. Wow! I just gotta doubt that. Are they even considered a top team in NE?
