While Maker will surely make a great D-1 coach someday,  I hope Williams will keep him for a few more years ... I am very curious to see how the Ephs will fare with a few years of his recruiting plus system being in place.  It would be very tough for Williams to adjust to its third head coach in four years (especially after losing such a strong group of seniors), but obviously, Ivy league head coaching opportunities are hard to come by and no one could blame Maker should he choose to depart.

Nice article from John Feinstein on the Williams / SUNYIT game:

Wow.  That is a great article.  Thanks for sharing.

Feinstein also wrote a nice column about the Williams-Stevens Point title game.

I figured Feinstein might have attended the title game since there was a chance Nathan Davis (Randolph-Macon Head Coach) would be in it.  Davis was an assistant at Navy when Feinstein wrote "The Last Amateurs."  But I wonder what the connection to the Williams program is.

I think it's great Feinstein is finally noticing the actual last amateurs.

Better late than never. I remember reading his book about Patriot League basketball, in which he dismissed D3 with an offhand comment to the effect of, "Well, D3 ball consists of amateurs, too, but Patriot Leaguers are the amateurs who are actually competing against the semi-professionals on the D1 level, which makes them a more compelling topic of discussion." It was a reasonable argument, but the capitulation of Patriot League programs to the demands of their fans that they field competitive teams by offering scholies has made it a moot point.

If I am not mistaken, Nease HS is where the legendary Tim Tebow attended.  Maybe Buckner can replicate Tebow's success at Amherst.

Tebow didn't attend there, did he?  I thought he was homeschooled and he just played for their football team.

New Trinity coach, wow, VERY successful D-II coach, sounds like an impressive hire:

Coaching changes are always tough for veteran players, but even so, a Trinity team with a lot of talent that graduated nobody from last year could be a dark horse in the conference next year, depending on how fast they acclimate to the new system.
