I am okay but not in love with these selections. I don't know who Chris Wilson is. I also think Pierce and Schultz should be flop-flopped. The ROY is a tough call but I think it will be a strong class for the conference for the next 3 seasons.

The Amherst MBB game at R. Stockton on Fri. 6 is at 8 PM according to the R Stockton website and the Amherst College Athletic website.  There will be live statistics.  Contrary to Pat Coleman's read of the NCAA rules, R. Stockton decided to have the their game first ; followed by the Amherst game.  The game on Sat. will start at 7 PM.
Amh63.... I am a new poster and a long time supporter of Amherst sports.  Hope to be there on Sat. if Amherst wins on Friday night.

Yep, I sent the NCAA an email this afternoon and they said they will clarify the rules next year to make sure the host school always plays second in any round with doubleheaders.

Yeah, Schultz over Pierce is a little ridiculous. I know he played for a last-place team, but going on individual performance alone, Pierce is absolutely the very best player in the league. Put him on the first team.

Wilson is a good player and I'm fine with seeing him on the second team. Nothing else was too surprising.

dman

pierce plays no "d" and schultz guards the other team's best scorer, so to me it's close to a no-brainer....

congrats to midd and best of luck to amh and midd in the tourney...just filled out my bracket and have midd beating amh in elite 8 and losing in finals.....

Congrats to Snyder and Schultz for making the first team.  I do think Schultz deserved first team (if you look at his stats, he is right there at the top of the conference in multiple categories and he plays strong defense as well), but I would have put Pierce there as well ...

As for the second team, Walzy, Wilson is a damn good player and is deserving.  What surprised me more was Rowe over Meehan (close call, but Meehan really stepped up his play in conference games and was the engine of that team) and especially Jackson from Bowdoin over Phillips from the same team -- I realize that coaches like to reward seniors, which probably accounts for both of those selections (and for that matter, Snyder beating out Pierce on the first team), but still ...

other than Phillips and Meehan, I'd say that Bernier is the only guy with a potential gripe.  I predict all three of them, plus Geoghegan and Wheeler if they have better health, join the four returning underclassmen on next year's all conference teams ...

POY, DPOY, COY, and ROY all seem about right.  Again, could really have argued for any of five guys (at least) as ROY from a really stellar class, but Porter is certainly deserving ...

False, he isn't even the best player in his class... that would be Adam Choice, who is far superior on the defensive end and much more efficient offensively. No brainer after watching them play head to head

so i have been absent from this board as far as posting goes. I have been abroad second semester and havent been able to follow Tufts as closely as I would like. Ive seen the box scores, watched the jumbo cast games, and now that all league has been posted, i wanted to chime in. its absurd to me that pierce isnt on the first team. ABSURD. yes, i know he played on the last place team in the league. to me, that only strengthens his case. because when you look at his numbers and then realize teams didnt have to game plan for anyone else on the floor, it elevates his 22 and 9 even higher in my mind. apparently not the league coaches though who based their scouting reports on #1. let me repeat that he averaged nearly 22 and 9, leading the league in both and is not a member of the first team. dman, he plays no d? are you are tufts? do you watch any of the games? because im fairly certain, that this year, much like last year, guards who are athletic and seem to drive middle against the jumbos at will seem to be more of the defensive issue. in conference, pierce was top 15 in steals and blocks. noooo d at all. pierce guards post players, id say in 80% of the games. so im not really sure your basis for his "no d" comment. he also led the league in DEFENSIVE rebounding by a huge margin. eclinchy, i think you were around tufts this year, can you comment on any of this? like i said, i wasnt around to see as much of this season. and i am not trying to disparage what anyone on the first team did. however, someone shouldnt be there in favor of pierce. no matter how you cut it, pierce is one of the top five players in this league. i feel bad for him because hes surrounded by talent that cant seem to get on the same page. and apparently coaches in the league decided thats his fault somehow? idk, sorry this has dragged on but again, pierce not being first team is nuts.

Agent_Zero

and booyakasha, choice is more efficient offensively? how so exactly? pierce shoots a higher percentage from the floor and scores more points per game. while clearly taking more shots. Pierce shot nearly 50% from the field this year. for someone who takes the shots he has too, against defensive schemes designed against him, thats pretty ridiculous. and again, i want to understand why the hating on pierces defense. his team defense is terrible, thats for sure. but what post players killed the jumbos this year? porter is the only one i can think of. i guess i just dont understand why pierce gets hated on for his lack of defense when he has been among the league leaders in blocks, rebounding, and this year steals, and post players never really seem to kill tufts? sooo....what isnt pierce doing on defense? clearly his d isnt on par with his offense. but thatd be pretty difficult, seeing as how hes about to shatter every record at tufts.

If you are going to put a Williams player on the first team I think its Schultz. Snyder was good but at times tough to watch (turnovers, forced shots, etc.) and I think Schultz is simply a better all around player. As for the Pierce debate, I can say with certainty that there are 5 players that I would take over him - he may be one of the most talented players in the league, but his attitude and lack of effort on the defensive end are often unbearable and for those reasons I wouldn't take him on my team over the first team selections.

booyakasha

I should have checked before posting instead of assuming Pierce shoots a low %. When seeing the numbers it becomes pretty impressive. That being said, I still think Choice is the more complete player. I didn't see a ton of games this year, but Choice owned the head to head by a mile (they were matched up with each other the whole game too).

And how the hell do you manage to accumulate -94 karma points nescac hoops?
