Just to clear matters up ... Frank did indeed go to Williams.  He was an NFL scout for many years, and I can only imagine, as such, has provided some valuable insights on the football board ...

nescac1: Now you have spoiled much of the fun.

This is getting more and more like Bizarro world. In my humble opinion NESCAC 1 and Eph Hoops are two of the better contributors. NESCAC 1 provides interesting links, recruiting info etc. etc. Yet he sits with 10 Karma or whatever the ---- it's called and others who contribute much much much much much less have many many many many many times the Karma or whatever it is.
It's only a small D3 basketball thing and yet look how folks have made it into a sort of Bizarro world. I mean who gives out Karma? It wouldn't surprise me a bit if ONE person dished out most of it, as a matter of fact I believe that's the case. This is only an opinion, not a fact.

So anyway I have decided to have my own hall of fame. It will be far more valid than the one that exists and it will reflect what I think is valuable on this site.
Former Bant (good to have an actual player in) of course is in it and so is NESCAC 1. Walzy makes it because he has shown dedication even after graduating and while he doesn't contribute as much as NESCAC 1 he still contributes a lot more than almost all the others. Of course I too am in it because it's my Hall.
The only thing NESCAC 1 does wrong is consistently talk about Amherst players and recruits as if they were Gods but he can't help that.
Ephoops is very close. I think I'll make him a member too.
There will be no gaudy chintzy stars along side the member's names, so this will be an understated hall of fame.

I hereby decree that the Senator Frost Hall Of Fame is now in existence. Ta da.

Frank doesn't work for D3hoops.com and I've never met him. You're going to need to find other straws to grasp at.

If you had posters with Hall of Fame tendencies they would have gotten in the Hall of Fame by now. The next Northeast Hall of Famer isn't coming from the NESCAC board, that much is clear.

haha whys this guy so angry?

i like it senatorfrost.

Pat Coleman

That's cool -- you can have a NESCAC hall of fame if you like, but a national hall of fame needs national posters. :)

Pat we disagree but that's okay. My Hall of Fame is a national hall of fame. It is not restricted to NESCAC people. Anyone is more than welcome to post where I can see it and if worthy I will be delighted to add them to my hall after they have displayed consistency over a reasonable length of time or a reasonable number of posts.
SO Mr. Collinge, Mr. Sager, Titan Q et.al. come see how you stack up against those who are now the original members of the Senator Frost National Hall of Fame.

Alia jacta est. (Did I spell it right Pat?)

i declare senatorfrost winner in the argument with coleman

I'm honored and I accept the HOF inductance. If I had a Twitter account I would Tweet people to come to the ceremony. In lieu of a speech, I will share a top 25 of a different hall of famer.

Thanks, Senator (and Dman) ...

This is interesting -- according to this article, NESCAC schools will save travel money by having women and men teams travel together:

http://amherststudent.amherst.edu/current/news/view.php?year=2008-2009&issue=19&section=news&article=04

For half the schools, this switch means either the men or the women (not sure which schedules will be changed) will get an extra road game two years in a row ... on the plus side, this should help raise attendence, especially at women's games -- Williams and Amherst already have this system in place, and it really helps create a better atmosphere at the women's games that preceed men's games ...

Very interesting change.  I'm pretty sure that the UAA men and women travel together.  As a player, I didn't like another game being played before mine as I had to adjust my routine....but I think it'll promote camaraderie among the teams and could create a livelier atmosphere.

What time will the games be played on Friday and Saturday?  If anybody knows.

CCC Talk

TCCC Has done this for years, I'm sure the men's coaches and players aren't big fans of it simply because you don't know exactly when your game is starting. It seems to be a good situation for travel and logistics however

Should the Amherst women get a win tonight versus NYU, Amherst will have seen all 4 major winter sports teams (apologies to swimming and diving, indoor track, squash) advance to the national quarterfinals or better within the last two years.

Not too shabby... now if we could just get the football team to start carrying its weight.

I can think of other words than "camaraderie" to describe what this travel arrangement may promote...
