I'll go with all dogs, because weird things are happening NESCAC play this year: Bowdoin (-) under (+), Hamilton (+) over (+), Conn (+) over (+++) (I'll put triple bet on the over in that game), Tufts (+) under (+), Colby (++) (double bet on Colby to cover at home) over (-).
Wow, nice night at the sportsbook for nescac1. 8-2 but with his heavier bets on Colby and the Bates/Conn over her is plus 8.8 units = +8K (will payout over the week)

Going for the Parlay with Amherst over (0/2= -), Hamilton over (2/2 = +++), Wesleyan under (1/2 = -), Bates over (0-2 = -), and Trinity over (0-2 = -).

3 for 10 on picks and 1 for 5 on parlays = Negative -0.8 units or -1K

ANOTHER SASHA BROWN BUZZER BEATER!!!!  The Cardinals win 58-57.  Brown almost blows the game with a personal foul with 3 seconds left, but puts up the jumper to win it down by 1.  Holy Cow!!!

I was there.  What a game that was, one of the best I have seen all year.

with age came?

Happy to see Hamilton being competitive with the league's best.  Was not sure how new coach, new system, new league would play out but I have faith in Stockwell's ability.  Was anybody at that game?  It seems like thee must have been at least a tremor of fear in the Middies? Or could Middlebury "turn it on when needed"?

For Walzy's spreads tomorrow since I'll probably be on my way to the Western game when he posts it, let me lock in on whatever he may have it at.

I'll take Amherst and over
Wes and over
Tufts and under
Bowdoin and under

Colby Hoops

Props to Colby for their first league win.  The team is playing hard under Strahorn after two competitive losses to Bates and Tufts last week, a nice win against Trinity last night.  Great play from Ben Foreman again last night, putting up 28 points on just 11 field goal attempts.  Kyle Donovan added 10, while Conor ONeil and Eric Beaulieu each added 9.

I also believe Colby covered Walzy's preseason over/under of .5 Nescac wins for the Mules.

The way the team is playing I'd bet on them grabbing another win before the season's out and possibly sneaking as the 8 seed for the Nescac tournament.  Still have Conn left on the schedule which is definitely a winnable one.

Winter storm of sorts has me at home today awaiting the games.  Nice to see Waller breakout.  His effort, on defense, was just as critical as his offense...."checking " Hanley a bit.  For those who watched the game...does it seem that Bowdoin works much of its plays for Hanley...pick and rolls and sets blocks to pick off his defenders?  Both teams shot well last night and the stats indicate little play by the centers of both teams.  However, there were a great deal of action down low, IMO. Holmes working against the 7 footer at 250# as Swords backs in towards the basket.  Amherst players shooting over Swords.  Yes, the foul shots by Amherst were critical.
Contrats to Coach Hixon.  It was his 900th coached game!
Several interesting trivial...at least to me....attendance numbers.  I know they can have errors....however, the WBB game had more people in the stands than the men's game.  The attendance at the Hamilton vs. Midd. was over 900!  Guess when you are rated #l, people come out...star power.

Maine-Man

Amh63 I watched the Bowdoin/Amherst game.  Good game for first 30 minutes then Amherst took over.  You are correct in saying the Bowdoin offense revolves almost entirely around Hanley.  Balance of the Bowdoin offense is the guards taking 3 pt shots, with little pentration to the basket. Also, it was apparent that Amherst was the more physical and athletic team. That led to the number of fouls called on Bowdoin.  Interesting fact is Hanley played 39 minutes last night.  Will be watching to see how he holds up playing big minutes in back to back games.

Who is the 5th first team all-NESCAC player?
So far:
Ryan Sharry (POTY)
Shasha Brown
Will Hanley
Aaron Toomey

I would think that the last 1st team rep would be one of either Robertson, Wang or Orchowski.

This is also a tough year for DPOY. There are no Adam Harper, Jaris Cole, John Halas, Andrew Locke, Time Edwards, Drew Cohen type statistical domination in the category. Looking at league leaders, you have Toomey, Workman and Shasha as 1-2-3 in steals; Beaulieu, Click and Workman as 1-2-3 in blocks. Does that mean it is between Workman and Thompson? Workman is Amherst's best defender and Thompson proved himself as an incredibly tough perimeter defender last year. That accolade will be interesting.

I haven't been following the rookies very closely but there seems to have been a lot of good discussion on the board already about them. COY will either go to Brown/Hixon (if 9-0 in NESCAC) or Reilly for the big turnaround at Wesleyan.

Williams supporter and lurker here, finally getting off my rear to post a question.

Where has Wang gone this year?  If I recall correctly, he was a pre-season All American but I barely hear a peep about him on this board.  Injury?  Or did he totally fall off without the big guy to play the foil?

OchoLoko41

Its tied at 23 a piece in the Reilly Classic aka Wesleyan vs Bates.  Wes is providing a free webcast of the game http://wescast.wesleyan.edu/

OchoLoko41

not to single him out... but John Squires might have just shot the worst free throw of the year.  That thing came nowhere close to the rim, net, or backboard
