ECSU .....Thanks...for your support of the LJ's play!   Colby wii be the first round opponent.  Amherst needs to remain focused against a young team with talent.

Pick and Roll...thanks for the "pick up" on the subset of the crazy team.  How many repeats before one's honor is returned?

Panther nation...must have come from a Jesuit run school.

JB33...Mancrush?....generational term?...like Manbag for my IPad.   Too early to tell...so many to choose from the Amherst team present and future.   My daughter-in-Law has picked one, it seems.
Was at the Tufts game and saw Conner Green play.  She and her girlfriend started to refer to Green as "Joe College".

Walzy...the spreads!

.like Manbag for my IPad.

Do I dare ask what this refers to?

Too late now to decline to dare.

Lefrakenstein....need to get out more.  A Manbag also referred to as a man purse...is a bag worn off a shoulder via strap to carry a man's needs...wallet, keys, phone, pen, etc.   a tablet computer or an IPad can fit    It is often seen worn in Europe and places overseas by men....less so in the states.  More urban usage than rural.   Don't have one myself. A fashion statement of sorts by hip men.

Ah, I think I remember a Seinfeld episode from the mid 90s on the topic. Not sure that qualifies as a hip term.

Man, this weekend's games cannot come soon enough. Who knows what other sundry topics this board will cover before then.

Do not want to hear about one's backup school, expertise in a dead language, knowledge of forgotten school chants and even "
Social ethics", etc......
There...my personal rant for now.     Would like to know if/when the video of The Game is available.

Hey amh63, just reading this post now, if you still haven't found the video, here it is: http://www.nsnsports.net/index.php/archives?fileID=AMHvsMIDDmb021213.flv

Sorry about the Latin. Not Jesuit school though, just Middlebury.

Some recruiting news, including some impressive recruits for Tufts and Middlebury:

http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/article/2974/Commitment-CatchUp.php.  Tufts should have quite the duo of big guys for the next three years if it's accurate that Sabety "turned down 18 scholarship offers."  Jones sounds like a guy who could play early on for Midd, especially in light of the Panthers' perimeter losses this year.

So far, the 2013 NESCAC recruiting stands as follows.  Sounds like Williams and Tufts both have extremely strong and potentially elite classes coming in, and Wesleyan and Amherst also have solid groups of recruits.  Wesleyan is loading up on guards to help replace two four-year starters on the perimeter.  Tufts is building a NESCAC and potential national power, it seems, after three great recruiting years.  Very quiet, so far, for the Maine schools and for Trinity, who all typically bring in mainly New England recruits.

Tufts: G Tarik Smith, C Hunter Sabety, F Drew Madsen
Williams: F Duncan Robinson, G/F Dan Aronowitz, PG Mike Greenman
Amherst: C Jacob Nabatoff, PG Reid Berman, G Jeff Racy
Wesleyan: G Harry Rafferty, G Joe Connelly, G Duncan Reid
Hamilton: F Weston Wilbur, C Alex Addesi
Middlebury: G Bryan Jones
Conn College: F Colin Pascoe

Sabety looks especially good for a young big guy.

Harry Rafferty is getting rave reviews at Phillips Exeter. He should be able to have an early impact at Wesleyan.

Summary response ...
Middhoops...thanks for the look.   The Oceanside NY recruit has a former teammate in Garay at Amherst...Garay was a pg and a football wr his Freshman year and played only football this year...like QB Lippe.  Garay was an all star in both sports in HS.

Frank .....You Got It!

Lefrakenstein....Thanks for the Seinfeld reminder....Kramer was the Manbag wearer.

Panthernation ...still impressive...my daughter was a classics major at Amherst...though she also took physics and calculus ...like her dad.   It is all Greek to me!   Have enough trouble with modern American.
