Williams has a verbal commitment from a second Indiana high school senior:

Interesting that the Ephs are bringing in two guards from Indiana -- I can't recall a single prior Williams player from that state, or for that matter, a single NESCAC player that springs to mind off the top of my head.  Love that Adam Kroot and Cole Teal are both (assuming Teal is admitted) future Ephs ... sounds like two characters from Hoosiers.  The highlights I've seen of Teal's game remind me a lot of Blake Schultz, although obviously whether he ever approaches that level of play is a mystery.  I note that he is also a high school QB, but it does not sound like he is looking to play football at the next level.

Latest Hoosier recruit likes to be a QB at the college level, nescac1 :)  Why not....considering Williams football team could use a QB.  Had to say that.  :) There are many football-basketball players past and present on the Amherst football team.
Max Lippe, Amherst 6'6" QB played on the BB team his freshman year...Coach Hixon considered him a good player.  FY BB player Nabatoff...all 6'8" played QB on his HS team when he was shorter.
Though he may not need it, being that future elusive QB for the Ephs, could help him...a bump from the HFC is a strong push.
For those posters that are not on the football board.....my kidding around with nescac1 is in part to nescac1's posts on the QB situation.

Williams no longer recruits QBs, Amh63.  Also, unfortunately it seems that Cole has recently suffered a broken clavicle.  Hopefully the young man can make a full and speedy recovery.  I am curious to see how many recruits Maker brings in this year after having a few recent years that have been light on volume (but not so light on talent, unfortunately).

This post from NERR provides some more NESCAC recruiting news, including confirmation of the news that Johnny McCarthy will be attending Amherst.  http://www.newenglandrecruitingreport.com/news/article/3354/NESCAC-Decisions-Coming-Down.php

Have been trying to follow the North Central Eastern Connecticut game.  Still up in the air with a few minutes to play.  The Kmiec kid can still shoot.

Me too....Amh..Student05.  Watching live stats the last 5 plus minutes and into the OT.  Too bad about the two misses on the foul line by ECSU player.  Exciting game, even on a lagging confusing live stats show.  NCC foul shooting hurt the Cardinals.  Two NCC players fouled out.....for Warriors fans, it should have been Kmiec...who got the last key rb.  Amherst will have to be focused when ECSU comes to LeFrak.  That guard  Brian Saizillo needs to be guarded on the outside.  He beat a solid RIC team on Dec. 7 with his 3-point shooting.  Garrow also needs to be watched outside. Too bad he fouled out late in the game.

AmherstStudent05......thanks for the NERR link.  Jamie Spears, the 5'8" guard who appears to be a great BB player and is comitted to Trinity...to play FOOTBALL on the offensive side is an intriguing recruit to me.  He maybe related to the Jaymie Spears at Amherst.  The Amherst Spears attended St. Marks in MA and is a soph CB now.  He is a "star" in my eyes in that his play has helped beat Williams the past two years.  In his FY, his pick of the Williams QB shut down Williams last rally.  Our Spears is listed at 5'9" and was also a very good BB player...according to Coach Hixon.
On the video of the Trinity bound J. Spears, the recruit has hops!  So does the Amherst Spears.  They could be brothers even.

The Spears are brothers

amh63,

I think the LJs have too many weapons in the arsenal for Eastern to win, I just hope its a good game!!

Jayhawk...Thanks for the info.  Next football season will have the THIRD pair of brothers playing against each other on the gridiron....between Trinity and Amherst.  First the Bunker boys, now the Ragone brothers at WR and soon to be Spears players.  Who knows, one day there will be brothers playing on different BB teams. Has there been ever been siblings going against each other.  The closest to that case was when Lippe was on the MBB team and his older sister was in LeFrak playing for Wesleyan.

About 7 or 8 years ago there were 6'0", red headed, female, identical basketball playing twins - one for Amherst, the other for Williams. Finding their names is left to someone else.

Frank U.....thanks for the reminder of the Ludwig twins.  Susannah Ludwig '09 was listed at 6'1" on the Amherst's roster.  Assume her twin is the same height.  Met the mother and Susannah at a FY reception in D.C..  The twins were from Charlottesville, Va. and attended a private school...St. Anne's.  Susannah was primarily a reserve for Amherst.  By her jr. year, the first of two recruiting classes had arrived with many future All Conference players.  Now I remember seeing both twins and the family at Senior night in LeFrak.  Never did get to find out if her father was a judge on the Federal Appeals Court in Richmond...being that Amherst has been the school of choice for a number of Federal Judges over the years....starting with my class. :)...sort of a plug here.

Has anybody been watching the Stevens Point- St. Thomas game? Stevens Point is just outstanding. They look as good as any D3 team I have seen -- ever. Their stats are so good that they are nearly unbelievable. I know it is a long way till March, but these guys may be the presumptive favorites to win it all.

amh63: It is unbelievable that you would engage in something so low as plugging Amherst.

Yes.  Have seen them.  Scary efficiency.  Check out the shooting percentages of their starters.

It's not basketball, but Trinity and Williams fans might enjoy this anyway...

Gordanmann.....Nice!  Much better than the one in today's WSJ for the Harvard vs Yale hockey game on the 17th in NYC.  What is this with hockey fans? :)
