I dont know Sage but I do know parsley, rosemary and thyme.

Really?  When did this become the MASCAC board?

Are parsley, rosemary, and thyme also MASCAC schools? ;D

Where are we gonna go with this?  Pour salt in the wounds?  Pepper me with witty retorts?  That's Annatto gonna work around here.

I don't recall Simon and Garfunkel singing about salt, pepper, ginger, etc.  Which album was that on? :D

For the record, I was aware of Sage (probably at least in part because I sometimes used Russell Sage publications for lecture material).  But I do still encounter schools that I had never heard of until they somehow popped up on scoreboard discussions.  Most d3 schools are small and not widely known - it should not be taken as a disgrace if a person is unfamiliar with them.

I wasn't making fun, but to be fair, Sage is only 41 miles from Williamstown.  I suspect most NESCAC teams have to practically drive by it to get to Hamilton.  It's not like it's deep in the heart of Texas or something.

You should see the looks I get here in Atlanta when I tell people about Bowdoin. First of all, I have to explain where Maine is...then....well you can imgaine.  My discussions never even get to how the school's name is spelled.

Like the humor on the board lately.  I admit that I had to look up "Sage Colleges" as it is now known. There are TWO locations...guess that is the reason for Colleges.  The one in Troy...former Russell Sage is on 15 acres on a hilltop.  The other Campus is in Albany...near other educational institutes on 15 acres.  I'm guessing the basketball venue is in Albany?  Corrections welcome.  Always open to new fun facts.
Now...Hoops Fan...did you insult an entire MBB board in one of your post? :)...MASCAC!

No one's posted there in two years.  I think we're ok.

Your claiming never to have heard of Sage (formerly Russell Sage in Troy, New York) says more about your lack of general knowledge and implies an arrogance that is unwarranted. Those on high horses have farther to fall ....

Hahahaha ok man. I live in Maine, don't ride horses. Rarely am I ever in upstate NY. (Hamilton was not a part of the NESCAC when I played). I'll be sure to remember to have a handle on all 615 D3 schools before I post again so as not to disappoint you with my unwarranted arrogance.

Great write up on Bowdoin's season by the NbN guys.  I realize they will be posting much more as the NCAA tournament goes on but I wanted to take a minute to thank them for their great coverage of NESCAC basketball this season.  It's a real treat to read your coverage - especailly about the P'bears!

Thanks again and look forward to future posts.

I concur. Really well done. The NBN guys may have a future in that field should they choose.

I am a little late to the party - but I gave a few pluses for all the herb humor - I was laughing like a 5 year old.

All-NESCAC Teams announced.

http://www.nescac.com/sports/mbkb/2014-15/honors/allconference

First Team: Green, Hausman, Safford, Starks, and Wohl.

Second Team: Lin, Palleschi, HRL, Sinnickson and Swords.

PoY: Hausman
DPoY: Swords (repeating)
RoY: JMac
CoY: Cosgrove

Obviously the most noticeable thing is the absence of anyone from our Conference champions.  Pretty sure that has never happened in the NESCAC before.  Has it happened to any other conference.  I thought Reilly was a strong CoY contender, but hard to argue with Cosgrove.  (I also am surprised that Boornazian didn't make it).

Also, the NESCAC coaches showed love for seniors Lin and Sinnickson even though their teams failed to make the tourney.  Again, not the way I would have voted, but that is what makes the world go round, I guess.
