BigMike33, it really is not all about you.

Lots of eyes on Tufts this weekend.
Not many games left to be played and the seeding for the tourney is wide open.

The most wide open the league has been in years.  I think at least 5 teams can easily win the tournament.  No one has run away and showed themselves to be a team which cannot be beat.  The recent seasons of the big three are in the rear view mirror.  In a league like this, watch for a team which gets hot down the stretch, and just as importantly keeps their top players healthy and on the court.  Personally, I think we have seen far from the best from Amherst and Williams.  Query whether we will, but if we do, watch out.

Tufts finishes up rough.
Amherst, Trinity and Williams.
Without a healthy Palleschi, those are three very lose-able games.
Not counting the Jumbos out.  Their deep rotation of skilled players is capable of winning out, but it's a perilous path.

Middlebury and Amherst may battle it out for top seed in Vermont a week from Saturday if Tufts stumbles.

Mr. Folger,

Allow me to say that it's not cool to pretend to be someone you aren't. Just about everyone on this board has been transparent about their identities; many of us have met one another. To misrepresent yourself, to cloak motivations when you get (justifiably) criticized, is insulting and flies in the face of the community-aspect of this message board.

This isn't about censorship; this is about honesty and integrity. And now I'm done with this topic. Do what you want, but also do know how it's being received.

Still too tough to call with Trinity & Amherst playing Mid next weekend.  If each of those 3 teams go 1-1, would Tufts still be alive if they went 0-2 through Trinity & Amherst??

grabtherim

Trinity is a wild card.  Cannot figure them out.  Big swings.  Think they can beat or be beaten by anyone.  Wonder if anyone esle sees a bit of the 2011 Whittington in Ogundeko's game.  I think Ed can play many years in Europe if he wants to.  Love to watch him rebound.

Today is the "pause" before the  big weekend at Amherst.  A day that I can catch-up on my reading.  When Amherst plays, my days seem to be built around the game watching on line.  Do wish to be able to watch games LIVE.  Days when I have travel buddies to games are rare now.  One moved to North Carolina...do try to attend ACC games live when I visit.  My younger son, in NY, is leaving for Chile on Fri...hiking the trails of Pantagonia with his wife..no help there.  Remember when my son and his wife and my best man sat in LeFrak watching Amherst battle Tufts.  Wow, was it Palleschi's freshman year?
BigMike...enjoy your posts...good eyes.
GTR...yours too.
7express...thanks buddy.  Realized my error later.  Sort of brain rot.
Old Guy...thanks for your report.  I tuned in too, but lost interest quickly.  The broadcast was noisy and there was little graphics to relate time and score.  Sat in the gym at Conn College...not an enticing place to watch a game.
Really wanted to have the RIC game played.  Wanted to see if Amherst made more adjustments. Read somewhere that Coach Hixon mentioned that Amherst needed to improve his team's defensive efforts.  Amherst's offense is sputtering lately.  Senior Racy's shooting woes continues.  TOs  need to be reduced and better ball movement needed as well as ball sharing.
In any case, agreed with others here that if Amherst sweeps the games this weekend then the following week end road games will determine the Tourny host.
If Amherst gets to host, then I may just join my Midd buddies to watch a Live game.  Believe I owe them a couple of craft brews somewhere.  Did I post that I chatted with Willy Workman's father recently in Amherst? Seems he is going to open up a craft beer place in Eashampton. :)

I believe Middlebury will play Amherst on a Friday and Trinity on a Saturday.

I was pleased to see Nothing But NESCAC note the improvement of the Amherst defense over the past few games.  It is evident that Hixon knows he doesn't have the firepower offensively inside to throw up 80 plus points a game as his prior teams did, so the team has gotten back to basics from a defensive standpoint.  It is perhaps more fun to "outscore" a team, 85-80, but if the inside scoring isn't there to do it, kudos to Hixon for pushing them hard to be better defenders.

We Midd buddies would love to host you in Vermont if Amherst doesn't host and we do.
Join us a week from tomorrow and we'll paint the town......

You are absolutely right.
I stand corrected.

From GTR:
" Personally, I think we have seen far from the best from Amherst and Williams.  Query whether we will, but if we do, watch out.  "

SO true.  Both Amherst and Williams have yet to really find their flow.  Amherst did early.  They edged out Babson.  That is really saying something.  Since then, lacking an effective pass-first point guard, they've been scary but beatable.
Williams also showed signs of brilliance early, especially in beating Hope.  Since then, other than crushing Middlebury, they've been indecipherable.

This season, upsets in the tourney may replicate last season.  Perhaps parity has found us?

Traveling to Brunswick tomorrow to watch the Polar Bears take on Hamilton and Midd.  This is Senior weekend so a bittersweet trip for us.  Here's hoping Bowdoin puts all the pieces together in the last four games and plays up to their potential.

Big games this weekend, should be fun to watch. Anyone want to claim an upset in advance?

nescac1

Is there even such thing as an upset in NESCAC this year?

I'd be kinda surprised if Colby won.
