Traveling to Brunswick tomorrow to watch the Polar Bears take on Hamilton and Midd.  This is Senior weekend so a bittersweet trip for us.  Here's hoping Bowdoin puts all the pieces together in the last four games and plays up to their potential.

GoUBears!!

See you there, P'Bearfan. Say hello at the half - look for a very old guy with white hair (good hair - one thing I've retained in my dotage) in Middlebury gear behind the Midd bench, straining not to correct the officials.

Is there even such thing as an upset in NESCAC this year?
Any time Williams, Colby or Bowdoin win it is considered one in my eyes. I meant any lower teams beating higher teams.

Big games this weekend, should be fun to watch. Anyone want to claim an upset in advance?

Does Tufts beating Amherst count as an "upset??"

Look forward to seeing you as well.  I'll be the middle-aged Senior father who lost all his hair a long time ago.  Suspect I lack your restraint regarding the officials.

Nope.   Tufts higher seeded, higher ranked.   Jumbos the favorites!

Seeds and ranks are what they are, but I'm not sure I agree with you based on recent trends.  I see Amherst winning this one at home so I guess I see them as the favorite.

Middhoops....thanks for the invite.  As posted earlier, will be in Florida next weekend...visiting wife's baby sister and wife's childhood friend...from Easton, Ct., etc.  Sort of short "snowbird" migration. Still thinking about partial winter migration up North...wife friends think I am nuts about buying property in Amherst in order to follow Fall and Winter sports. Do have a MIT trained architect classmate living in Amherst..that will help me :)
Glad to see posters focused on this weekend's games.
Expect every game to be battles...every game is critical in the conference standings.
Any info why Bates' biggest Big..Malcom..did not appear in Bates' midweek game?   Illness?  In the recent Kentucky game, it was pointed out that three key players were out...several ill.
Oh well, info only may calm my nerves. Will NOT slow my hair from turning white....a contribution to the Hair talk here.

Any time anyone goes into LeFrak and beats Amherst, it's not only an upset.  It's a big deal.  (See Babson)
Tufts without their All America big guy is not the same team.  This weekend is huge for them.  Everyone on this board will be keeping an eye on the Jumbos tonight and tomorrow, I suspect.

And I will be on the PA Microphone on Saturday (not Friday) and I have to be restrained in regards to the officials.  ;)

Try Frost Beer Works in Hinesburg, VT.  "Lush" is their incredible, double IPA.  You won't go wrong.

Today is the "pause" before the  big weekend at Amherst.  A day that I can catch-up on my reading.  When Amherst plays, my days seem to be built around the game watching on line.  Do wish to be able to watch games LIVE.  Days when I have travel buddies to games are rare now.  One moved to North Carolina...do try to attend ACC games live when I visit.  My younger son, in NY, is leaving for Chile on Fri...hiking the trails of Pantagonia with his wife..no help there.  Remember when my son and his wife and my best man sat in LeFrak watching Amherst battle Tufts.  Wow, was it Palleschi's freshman year?
BigMike...enjoy your posts...good eyes.
GTR...yours too.
7express...thanks buddy.  Realized my error later.  Sort of brain rot.
Old Guy...thanks for your report.  I tuned in too, but lost interest quickly.  The broadcast was noisy and there was little graphics to relate time and score.  Sat in the gym at Conn College...not an enticing place to watch a game.
Really wanted to have the RIC game played.  Wanted to see if Amherst made more adjustments. Read somewhere that Coach Hixon mentioned that Amherst needed to improve his team's defensive efforts.  Amherst's offense is sputtering lately.  Senior Racy's shooting woes continues.  TOs  need to be reduced and better ball movement needed as well as ball sharing.
In any case, agreed with others here that if Amherst sweeps the games this weekend then the following week end road games will determine the Tourny host.
If Amherst gets to host, then I may just join my Midd buddies to watch a Live game.  Believe I owe them a couple of craft brews somewhere.  Did I post that I chatted with Willy Workman's father recently in Amherst? Seems he is going to open up a craft beer place in Eashampton. :)

ContinentalDomer....thanks for the tip.plus k  Will past it on to my oldest son...an Amherst alum...who will not pass up a good craft brew and is a foodie too.
Any suggestion in the Clinton area.?  Since all three of my kids now live between Ithaca and FishKill NY now...two recently in Brooklyn...they are always up for places with good food and drinks.
Oops this is a MBB board.  Anyway, new light on VT.  It is more than cows, messed up politicians, good BB, ice cream, skiing and ice hockey.  Wait...question here for Midd fans....what has happen to your hockey teams recently?

Much has been written about venerable Alumni Gym at Bates.  I thought I would share this little piece with the NESCAC crowd.

In my opinion it's the best in the NESCAC.  Some things should not be messed with, this is one of them.  A gem.

Sadly, tonight's game is not at the cozy confines of Alumni Gym, but it represents a chance to see how Bates can compete with the elite teams on the road. This will be a big test after last week's big win over Tufts...

jumpshot

Ephs limit their 7 point lead over Wesleyan at the half with 9 turnovers, 3 steals, missing 16 3-point attempts (making only 4). Ugly game ... let's see which team has the grit in the second half.
