I'm hearing the following names in the conversation for the Bowdoin MBB opening:

-Dave Paulsen (Former George Mason, Bucknell, Willams)

Whoa!

Sheehy is no longer AD at Dartmouth, and I bet the dude could still coach.  Paulsen is very much available (although, yes to "wow" if he really does end up at Bowdoin, seems like he could still coach for the right D1 program, like a Patriot League opening or something).  Maker, while an assistant coach, I imagine could be interested in the right situation.  If a few more NESCAC coaches leave, we can have a Williams reunion battle royale :)

Someone should drop Hixon's name into the Bowdoin mix just to REALLY blow some minds around here ...

In all seriousness, how can this not be Mark Gilbride's job to lose?  He's had great success at RPI, which is a much harder place to recruit to than Bowdoin (not that Bowdoin is easy given what seems to be a disinterest in making big concessions for athletes, but I mean, have you been to Troy?).  As an assistant, he helped coach Amherst to an NCAA title.  He's a Bowdoin grad who would continue the Gilbride legacy at Bowdoin.  If he wants the job (and I would think he probably would love to return to his alma mater), seems like beyond the odds-on favorite.

Paulsen was reportedly in the mix at Central Connecticut and got passed over for younger assistant coaches. He's in his mid-50's, right? Tough time to be looking for a new job.

Some guy by the name of Bob Quillman (who seems to be a bit of an authoriity on D3 basketball) posted on twitter that the following 4 names are reported to be in the running for the Bowdoin job:

-Mark Gilbride (RPI)
-Brandon Linton (Nichols)
-Alex Lloyd (Texas A&M staff)
-Dave Paulsen (Former George Mason, Bucknell, Willams)

I believe that Brandon Linton was a former Bowdoin assistant . .

Thanks for passing that along  ;)

That's embarrassing -- I guess I should read more carefully before I post!!! At least the Brandon Linton info was new!

Yes, Brandon Linton was the assistant when my son first played at Bowdoin.  He is highly respected by the guys he coached.

Lloyd is an interesting one. He's a Vermont native, NE prep school grad and former d3 player, currently coaching in the G League. If these are indeed the finalists, I'm not sure Bowdoin can go wrong.

Having a tough time seeing the attraction of Alex Lloyd.  The Texas A&M website lists him as:
"Former Pomona College standout Alex Lloyd is in his second season on the Texas A&M basketball staff as the program's video coordinator."  He's also been an assistant coach on various pro teams (D-League, overseas) but no HC experience.  That seems like a stretch, but who knows?

Bit of info found on the Conn College website.  Good news for the conference, IMO.  Conn College received the largest gift of money in their history.... Class of '88 alum and a parent of a member of the class of '20.  The total amount of the gift is 50 million.....15 going to athletics!.

Rob Hale is very highly respected guy on Bostons South Shore and beyond. For years he has contributed to athletics in the Hingham, Ma area. Many of his contributions I am told have been anonymous. He is a Lacrosse guy primarily.
He is the owner of the Boston Cannons Lacrosse franchise. Has made numerous contributions to the City of Quincy for some fantastic upgrades to venerable Veterans Memorial Stadium which is the home of the Cannons.

And also home to most of Eastern Nazarene College's soccer games.

Nice tribute to the Midd seniors and to a lost season of hoops more broadly from one of our esteemed posters:

I second that....wrt "old Guy".  Thanks Nescac1.   Do miss attending/watching Nescac games.  Hope all posters are well and looking forward to a full conference Fall season of sports.

Hoop Dirt reporting that the Bowdoin search has ended and an announcement should be coming in the next week. Also said an unnamed D3 HC from the Midwest was a 5th finalist.
