Hey guys,
I'm living in Boston this summer and looking for a good league to play in.  Anybody know of some typically good leagues to play in or around Boston?  Thanks.

Finally starting to get over the tall, not great, but so so affective tall boys from Witt and reading the past two months posts all in one night leads me to the following statements.
I would say that a good league to play in is the NESCAC because we don't play a double round robin. Or you could try the WIAC because they do play a double round robin and that can be deceiving. I am brilliant eh?
AHhhh I am so close to 200 posts...til the fall when two kids with the last name Wheeler will be balling all over this conference.
Lots of good points brought out by Nescac1, Formerbant and (the guy who must spend 2 hours on each post) Gregory Sager. Amherst top til someone knocks us off. Saw the schedule for the winter. Playing trinity the last weekend and Bates and Tufts in eary January should add a wrinkle to the 06-07 season that wasn't there the past couple years. Maybe who hosts won't come down to the last game...maybe it will. Either way I am psyched for the winter and even more psyched for the fall..

Not going to check out d3kicks.com during the season. But will read the whole season once Amherst's season is over and then will begin to input sheer brilliance.

Hixon for AD one time!

This site lists college destinations for many New England seniors:

Only a few NESCAC guys on there; I guess most of the NESCAC teams will be drawing their players from outside of New England.

Walzy, bout time the Trin-Amherst game was moved to the last weekend.  I was annoyed with the fact that it was the first game of the conference season again this year.
Also, playing at Tufts and Bates when there aren't as many students on campus will be a big help for those road games this year.
2 Wheelers on the same campus....could be dangerous for the rest of the teams.
But let's not forget that everyone's favorite Robert Taylor III will be back in uniform this year, as will Pat Hasiuk, for the Bants.  Could be another strong Trinity squad despite losing All-World Rhoten.

I'm with ya for Hixon

If you're looking for a team to join in the Watertown league, my team of mostly D3 players needs a few more for a full roster, anybody interested send me a message.

By the way I dont know if any one else knows this but Brian Fitzgerald is coming back to Tufts next year as a grad student to give the Jumbos a little more depth up front.  So I believe that with his experience as a starter and only losing one player (Dan Martin) they should be fighting for the top spot once again.

thats big news for the jumbos.  fitzgerald brings experience, defense reboundin and intensity.  The one thing he lacks is maturity in some situations and hopefully an extra year is the cure for lack of maturity.  The jumbos only lose dan martin, obvioulsy a blow for them, but it looks like they should have another great year.

Indeed it is good news for the Jumbos.  What does their recruiting class look like?

I've heard a few things about Trinity's but they'll have 8 different players who have started games for them on the roster, so unless the rookies are outstanding there won't be much time for them.

Any transfers this year?

From what I have seen, and Ive played with a few of them up here, they have two really good guards coming in one almost reminds me of a Ben Coffin but just by looks and not quite as tall, and one big man (6'7) who needs a little work and weight but is athletic and tough in the post.  He didnt back down when I was playing against him in the post in a pick up game.  Should be interesting because they have alot of guards.

formerbant10

Not a bad problem to have too many good players.  Especially if a couple of them are freshman, gives them a year to learn behind players like Shepherd, Black and O'Keefe.  It'll help them a lot.

Way too early to tell, but I'd say that the top 4 will most likely stay the same.  What does Williams have coming in?

ephoops

I heard that Williams has a couple of big kids coming in.  One from Maine and a 6'7" kid from Delaware (http://www.delawareonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060316/SPORTS14/603160328/1002)

They also have a guard from MA.

Any talk out there about Paulson being involved in the Brown job?  I hear he is 1 of 4 to interview next week.

I hear he interviewed last week. The Harvard assistant is also involved.

The names I heard were Paulson, the Stonehill coach, Paul Cormier formally of Dartmouth and the Boston Celtics and one other.  I want to say it was a Northwestern assistant.
